Relaxed, welcoming hotel in beautiful location

We loved the unpretentious, relaxed feel of this hotel. Lovely manager and staff who went out of their way for us. And it's in a wonderful spot, with beautiful sea and countryside views and a short walk to the beach.

Amazing friendly staff, good choice of food and breakfast was fantastic. One thing I will say, the roads leading to the hotel are very tight, so be careful.

A delightful find

We enjoyed two very pleasant nights at this hotel. Nothing to complain about whatsoever. Should mention that the meals were very good, both to eat, and value for money. Hats off to the kitchen brigade!

Lovely stay

Had a lovely stay! Got off to a not so good start tho as soon as we arrived the reception was very pushy trying to get us to commit to eating in the restaurant and choosing a meal and giving a time! We had just had a 5hour drive and just wanted to relax! Ended up having an excellent meal in the bar area no hassle. From then on the Service was spot on and couldn’t be faulted. The road to the hotel is an experience in itself it’s literally a car width with few passing places for around a mile! At the end it was a lovely remote location with lovely views.

Overall a pleasant stay, have to say not the best for value... the evening meal was good but having to pay a premium for adding mushrooms on a basic steak meal was a little suprising tho' in comparison my wife's fish dish was very nice I was told...breakfast was good and fresh too.. The young team staff were pleasant and attentive which was good but it would have been better if the Manager/Owner had actually spoken to us on arrival as he was behind the reception desk at the time.. Many may think I am being 'pickie' here but when you are paying £250+ for a 1 night stop it has to be right...

Turned us away saying they didn’t have our booking. This resulted in ruining our entire weekend, as we were attending a wedding in which we had to leave early to get back home instead of enjoying the celebrations all evening and staying locally like planned.

Customer service not good at all I turned up in work gear as working away from home did not get show round rush to my room when after getting changed came down to see some one else who because of being in a shirt and tie to be shown where the restaurant was and the bar not happy customer's should be the same to all

The Admiral restaurant is amazing. Definitely 5-star cuisine. Unfortunately the hotel is in need of modernization and a deep cleaning. Room/shower stall was very small and water pressure in the shower was very low.

Very nice stay for two nights, clearly you can see the refurbishment is on going and the areas complete is very good, Emilia was good, knowledge of the area was good, Amelie was very good too. We travel a lot and some hotels we go to should experience these two at work they are both a credit to the industry. 10/10.

Peace & Quiet

Lovely friendly staff from the minute we arrived until we left. Living under the Heathrow flight path, the silence was wonderful. The only sound we could hear was seagulls and the occasional wood pidgin. Wonderful four day break.

Friendly and comfortable stay

Had a warm welcome, very friendly and helpful lady. Room was really nice and comfortable and clean. Had some cakes waiting for us in our room, amazing taste and a lovely gesture.

We enjoyed our stay. Convenient for long walks and for us better than staying in bridport. The bathroom was on the small side. We felt that our recently refurbished room could do with another refurbish along with the rest of the hotel. It was adequate though and the staff were very friendly

A hidden gem

Warm welcome. I was allocated a double room with seaview which was very clean and comfortable. It had a good sized television which I appreciated. Also complimentary homemade cake which I enjoyed with my first cuppa. Breakfast was well cooked and tasty. Would rebook.

Beautiful setting. Road very narrow to hotel and beach ( not hotels fault obviously) but hard to navigate by car or a bit precarious for walking!..receptionists very helpful. Room not entirely clean ( sink very dirty) and no tea bags.. bathroom fixtures wobbly ,but overall tastefully decorated, comfortable and lovely complimentary extras. Breakfast perfect . Good service.
