The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we travel, but it hasn't done away with our appetite for exploring. Here are some tips on how to navigate travel's new challenges:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll have to follow on arrival, such as undergoing health assessments.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to lower it briefly to confirm your identity. Travellers who refuse to wear a mask may be fined and denied entry.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA agent.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag and submitted for screening.
• Remove items from your pockets, such as your wallet and phone, and place them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
