I thought the motel was fantastic. Great location - nice walk to the shops. Right on the lake, which is a good walk around. Staff were very friendly. Also had Netflix, which was a nice surprise. The only thing is it didn't have a digital clock radio. If I had of done my research properly I would have know this, but I didn't, other wise I would have taken my own. That is all.

Very clean and comfortable. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff - even switched our room to one further from the street. Handy guest laundry and an absolutely delicious cooked breakfast! The kids didn’t want to leave!

We had the do not disturb sign up, unfortunately not sure exactly what happened. A staff member come in for a second or two then quickly walked back out.

Jen (the owner) was very welcoming, as were Bear (dog) and the cats. We enjoyed our overnight stay and would love to return and stay for longer. The accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The best area to stay in Branxholme is within the village centre itself, particularly around the main street, which offers the most convenience and access to local amenities.
Branxholme is a small, quiet rural village. The main street, which is essentially the Dartmoor-Branxholme Road as it passes through the village, is where you'll find the general store and a few other local businesses. Staying here means you're right at the heart of the community, which is ideal for those looking for a peaceful country escape.
Couples seeking a tranquil retreat will find the village centre appealing. It's a place where you can enjoy slow mornings, perhaps with a coffee from the local store, and take relaxed strolls along the quiet streets. The lack of major attractions means the focus is on unwinding and enjoying the rural setting together.
For solo travellers looking for a break from city life, staying in the village centre provides a sense of community and ease. You're close to the few places where locals gather, offering a chance for a friendly chat.
