Storybook House on Wrights Mountain
Welcome to The Treehouse!
This is the place to come for relaxation and rejuvenation!
The Treehouse is a totally private, beautiful house in a wooded 10 acres. It overlooks a small, spring fed, half acre pond...with mountain views. 7 minutes from RT I-91 and close to everything. There are no other houses in sight and all 10 acres are available for walking, boating and exploring.
This is a unique home with an open floor plan, cathedral ceiling and lots of windows. Built in 2008, the house is quiet and peaceful.
Furnishings Include some Frank Lloyd Wright designed dining chairs from Copeland furniture in Bradford and a hand waxed Ellis dining table, made from old New England tobacco barn boards.
There is a main floor bedroom with a queen size bed and Copeland dresser, mirror and chair. The open loft has a queen and a full size bed, and a sofa.
The large, open floor plan living room has 2 sofas. The house is heated with oil and includes reliable internet and smart TV with Netflix. It also boasts 2 decks on the East and West sides of the house and 1 deck by the the pond for stargazing and wildlife viewing. Or for just sitting and reading. There is a fire pit by the pond and canoeing and kayaking are available on the pond with paddles and pfd's in the Pond House. Wood is provided for the fire pit. There are some short hiking trails around the property as well.
Our property manager, Morgan, lives nearby and is a wonderful resource for all things Vermont. He is also a personal chef and is available to cook a dinner or brunch right there at the house for you. Just give him a call to check his availability.
This property is an ideal getaway situated on beautifully kept grounds. There is a real sense of being in the country with some rustic, some kitch, and some elegant and artful touches. There is a brand new Pergo floor which was just installed. The bedroom and loft are air conditioned, which cools the entire house, and the main living room has two overhead Casablanca fans for cooling in the summer...even though it stands at 1,000 feet above sea level!
Note: The ground floor office is not part of the rental and is unoccupied. The wood burning stove is not available for fires at this time.
Below are some excerpts from guests who stayed with us last year and wrote in our "Share your stay with us" book, which we leave out for travellers:

"Check-out day...Not wanting to leave...We will miss this place and the wonderful pond and hiking trails."
"Our days were full of the music of birdsong, frog chirps, and wind in the trees. We loved waking up in the trees...such great windows in this house."
"Just the quiet and escape we needed from the world. So nice to sit out on the deck and read a good book."

Such a peaceful idyllic spot … for us, in the midst of the fall color. The property manager, Morgan, made arrival & self check-in simple for us. We had a delightful stay & will happily return.
We loved everything about the Storybook House on Wright Mountain. Everything was as described and just beautiful. Exceptional place to stay, close to tourist attractions in every direction.
My husband and I loved our stay! The property was so beautiful and even had some trails to walk, which was a lot of fun. The house was amazing and had everything we needed! We felt very relaxed and at home during our time there. Steve was very friendly and gave us all the details we needed for our stay and Morgan the property manager was great and reached out to assist if we needed anything. I would love to stay here again!
The House was clean and comfortable as described.
The property manager was through and very helpful.
Very nice peaceful location.
We look forward to going back.
It was a beautiful "cabin" - large, yet cozy at the same time. The grounds were magical and I spent a lot of time with a book by the pond. The bench by the small brook was a unique, appreciated touch. We plan on a return stay for sure!
We spent six nights at the Treehouse with our three-month-old daughter and had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and the house is very comfortable. Hiring Morgan (the property manager and a personal chef) for one night's dinner was a highlight!
The house was well kept and a great location for the town of Bradford. It’s seriously a hidden gem with plenty of space for a family. The kitchen was well stocked and there is plenty of things to do with kids/adults. The grill was a great addition for cooking. I am seriously looking forward to coming back to stay when visiting family in Vermont.
My family and I had a wonderful 3 day stay at the Treehouse. My kids spent hours on the trails, at the outdoor firepit, in and around the pond, and in the woods. A great place to relax and recharge while spending time in nature. Great communication from the owners and property manager. Plus, quick drive to town and close to lots of hikes. We had a terrific visit.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house in the woods. We relaxed in the porch and the pond. We took long walks on the dirt road. We enjoyed watching the birds and the wildlife. The weather was perfect for enjoying this beautiful woodlands setting
Communication with the Owner and Property Manager was fabulous. The home is warm and welcoming and beautiful. The setting is one that brings peace to your soul immediately. Will positively come back…next time in the autumn.
We had a great week at the Treehouse, which is set on a beautiful piece of property in the woods. The house was clean and comfortable; set up with everything we needed for our stay. Even when the weather kept us indoors, it was peaceful to just sit in the living room and watch the rain from the windows surrounding us. You always felt enclosed by nature. There is lots to do in the area, and we especially enjoyed the nearby hikes to Devil's Den and Wright's Mountain, and visits to the farmer's market and King Arthur Baking Company store and cafe in Norwich. Hope to return again some time!
Loved my weeklong stay in July 2024 at this lovely, high ceiling home with everything you need on this 10-acre property. Central A/C and window units were so appreciated as a respite from the outside heat. The kitchen was well equipped. The sofas were comfortable and the TV was appreciated for occupying my mother and teen at night. The dining table was perfect for me to use to get some work done. Morgan, the property manager, was in touch and ready to help if we needed anything. I reserved it for my in-laws in September and will recommend it highly to friends and other family!
When we first got there we were so happy with the house, .There was everything we needed there. It was very clean and maintained. The location was great for going to the food store. (the only one we ever saw all week) The location was great for taking off to all different places within a hour or two drive. We came home everyday and enjoyed the firepit. We enjoyed coffee every morning on the deck looking at the pond. If I had young children they would have loved going in the pond, we just enjoyed looking at it. we never had an issues or needed to contact anyone about the house. We saw the stars a few clear nights across the street in the field. I would highly recommend this lovely home. everything went smoothly and we were very comfortable there. Thanks for a great vacation.
The house was everything I had hoped for and more. My husband and I loved walking the trails on the property and around the pond along with exploring the town of Bradford (Fairway is an impressive store, and the deli is very tasty!). My favorite parts were kayaking around the small pond, playing croquet on the lawn, having coffee on the porch and watching the stars from it, too.
We did hear a coyote howl and growl several times across the pond when we set up a campfire one night, and we promptly put the fire out with a few buckets of water and went back inside! (I read later that coyotes hardly ever attack, but it was scary at the time in the pitch dark!)
The house was overall wonderfully stocked and had lots of towels and blankets, plus having a full kitchen was a delight. My only minor complaint was that there were a few insects and spiders in the house (and a few found their way to my neck when lounging on the couch) but that is totally expected of a house in the woods... So it's pretty minor and didn't bother me too much.
Overall I had a wonderful time and would love to visit again!!
A really special place all in all. We can't say enough about how peaceful and idyllic this place is! We would love to come back. The property manager Morgan came immediately to fix an issue we had with water pressure. Being really picky there were a few minor issues with cleanliness but nothing that affected our enjoyment!
