We were in the area for medical reasons. The cabin has beautiful views, lake, trees, wildlife. Inside was equally as beautiful and has everything you could need. Wed stay again!!

Great Little Cabin on a Nice Lake
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We stayed with our young adult children and brought the boat. Positive/Pros: Located on a quiet dead-end road 3 season porch was fantastic Lake is nice/clean water/large in size Public boat landing is close and easy to find Size of cabin/layout was perfect for the 4 of us Dock for boats Plenty of wood for bon fire and wood stove--which we needed one night as it was quite cool Plenty of parking-we were able to park our boat and truck near the cabin Not far from Grand Rapids if you need anything Internet was a nice surprise so my daughter could work on her class while we were there It's quite an elevation change from the cabin to the dock with quite a few stairs so anyone not in good shape may have issues navigating the incline, though there is a bench about half way to rest on.

Everything you could need is supplied. The new addition of the 3 season porch is wonderful. We didn’t realize it was so high up from the lake. Enjoyed watching the eagles. Thank you!

Girls weekend
We had a great girls weekend. We loved the loft with all the beds. It was great to all sleep in the same spot! The wood stove was great for those chilly fall nights. The cabin had everything we needed! We will definitely be back!! Probably a girls summer weekend so we can enjoy the beautiful lake!!

You must rent this cabin!!
The Northern Gem was everything we needed and more for our vacation! The cabin and property were spacious and clean. They have chairs and a picnic table for sitting on the patio and have a new porch that was a great place to eat and play games, etc. The owner was very informative and easy to work with! The kitchen is stocked with everything we needed! The only thing that could be improved are the mattresses in the loft! Going down to the dock has a lot of stairs but was great exercise! There is a nice dock by the water. We rented a pontoon from R&R in Grand Rapids. They deliver and pick up!! The cabin is in a great location, very close to Grand Rapids. Our favorite places to eat were Sammies Pizza, Mad Dogs and Rapids Brewery! It is very close to Eagle Ridge golf course, which also has a nice restaurant/ bar/ golf course! Thanks for helping us to have a great vacation!

Trout Lake
We had an awesome time. The place is just as listed. It is in a beautiful setting and has an awesome loft with beds. Our family loved the new screen porch for card games in the evening after a day on the pristine, beautiful, full of fish lake. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, etc. The only downside is one bathroom but we made it work. We hope to return someday.

nice getaway
We were looking for a small getaway for our little family. This definitely lived up to expectations and beyond. It was the perfect getaway for us. It was peaceful, and we were able to fully relax. Even woke one morning to find deer right off the front deck. The dog and us were tuckered every night . There are a lot of stairs to the lake, but totally worth it. Hubby was able to fish off the dock with gear found in the shed, it was even warm enough for us to get in the water one day. I would recommend this place, and had the discussion of going there again.

Great MN Getaway
We were looking for a little getaway location for a few days up north - this property was perfect! The cabin is exactly as pictured, as is the land/lakeshore. The trek to the lakeshore was a little long but well worth it once you reached the bottom of the stairs. Would definitely go back!

We enjoyed the kayaks and canoe! The smell of the woods and fresh air was awesome. Our dog found the best stick and wore herself out by repeatedly retrieving it out of the lake. Comfortable bedroom and living space. Phones worked fine for getting a hotspot, as the cabin didn’t have internet. DVD player didn’t work (at least not for the Nicholas Cage movie) but we spent time playing board games. I easily found the right trees to set up the hammock and had a good fire for s’mores. I also solved the two wooden puzzles on the end table, thus fulfilling a sense of accomplishment.

Cozy, serene cabin getaway
Owner very easy to communicate with. It’s all we hoped for in our cabin getaway. Located at the end of a culd-a-sac. Little traffic, nice neighborhood to walk in. Enjoyed the dock and dogs had fun jumping off the dock into the lake. Loved roasting hotdogs and making s’mores at the fire pit. Also, we’d recommend pizza and beer at Rapids Brewery!

Great place for family!
This cabin was a great stay for my family. The lake was easily accessible, with different fish to catch right off the dock or standing in the water. Plenty of room for multiple people. The only down side was there were spiders everywhere on the outside of the cabin, as it looked like the webs hadn't been cleaned off of the outside in a while, which wasn't an issue for my fiance and I, but our kids got a little freaked out by them. Overall, it was a great place and we will definitely be back for our next week long lake vacation!

Beautiful and serene getaway
The house is beautiful and clean. We loved having the use of kayaks and canoe. The lake is pretty and clear. They have chairs and skewers for an easy and comfortable way to make s'mores at the fire pit. We went into town and played mini golf and a few arcade games. This cabin is a great place to get away.

Great spot to get into the woods with good amenities. A ton of stairs to get down to the water, but a good amount to space to hang out down there! Strict pet policy so ask for the document before you pay.
