Summary:
Nestled between the leafy charming neighbourhood of Southbourne, and the Blue Flag awarded Southbourne Beach, this stunning recently renovated two-bedroom apartment makes for a fantastic getaway on the south coast in a superb location.
The Space:
The apartment building is located in a quiet residential area, only a 5-minute walk to the sands at Southbourne Beach, and close by to some laid-back local cafes, restaurants and bars. The apartment is located on the first floor of a beautiful Victorian building, recently renovated into flats.
This whole bright apartment is tastefully decorated, and features lovely plush carpets, wooden floors, stylish furniture, and brand new fixtures and fittings. Inside the main door is an entrance hallway with doorways to each of the rooms.
The main open-plan kitchen lounge dining room is beautifully finished throughout. It features oak veneer wood flooring, a modern grey cabinet granite worktop kitchen, and two large windows allowing in lots of natural light.
The kitchen comes equipped with fully integrated appliances including fridge freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washer dryer. On the worktop are small appliances such as an air fryer, toaster, kettle, and Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine. Inside the cupboards and drawers are plenty of cookware, crockery, glassware, cutlery, and utensils.
Off the kitchen there’s a small dining area for meals, with a modern foldable oak table & chair set, that seats four.
The lounge area of this room near to the window has a cosy feel, and features a 3-seat sofa, a separate armchair, side tables, lamp, large smart tv, and a few books and games.
The main bedroom is a gorgeous light-filled and generous room with a full kingsize bed, bedside cabinets, mirrored wardrobes, a vanity table & chair, and smart tv.
The slightly smaller bedroom off the hallway, comes with two single beds that are designed to be zipped together to create a further king bed if required. It also features lovely soft carpets, bedside cabinets, an open modern hanging unit with cabinets underneath, and smart tv.
The modern shower room is again off the hallway, and is beautifully finished with stone tiling, a large walk-in shower cubicle, wall-hung toilet, basin with under storage, heated towel rail, and contemporary illuminated mirror.
Included in the apartment are linens and towels, free Wi-Fi, a telephone intercom system, a clothes drying rack, an iron & board, a highchair, a travel cot, and a hoover.
There's off-street allocated parking for one vehicle included in your arrival instructions, but free unrestricted street parking.
This apartment is ideal for singles, couples, or families, and sleeps a maximum of four people. It is not suitable for pets I’m afraid.
Guest Access:
The whole apartment and private parking bay. You will need to use the communal entranceway to access the apartment.
The Neighborhood:
Laidback Southbourne is a pleasant escape from the business of Bournemouth down the road, and is ideally located for many other Dorset coastal attractions too. Hengistbury Head, Mudeford, Avon, and Highcliffe beaches lie to the east, and the beaches of Boscombe, Bournemouth, Sandbanks, and the legendary Jurassic Coast — to the west.
The Southbourne Grove area, with its many shops, bars and eateries, is within easy reach. The coastline at Southbourne is a 5-minute walk from the apartment. The beach is Blue Flag awarded for cleanliness and is long and wide, perfect for families and the ideal place to spend the day, year round. There’s also lifeguards during peak season for safety, and a few eateries dotted along.
There are some gorgeous walks along the promenade, whichever way you choose. Hengistbury Head nature reserve is accessible on foot or bikes, and makes for a great day out direct from the apartment — if you continue around this headland it leads you to Mudeford Sandspit and its iconic beach huts. Mudeford sandspit can also be accessed via ferry from the Avon Beach Mudeford Car Park.
To the north-east of the apartment, The New Forest is fairly close by — with its gorgeous towns and villages dotted throughout, and incredible scenery and wildlife. Lymington Town runs its own weekly Saturday market along its long high street and is well worth a visit. Christchurch is another historic coastal town and lovely area to explore.
Heading west from SOBO Beach takes you to the cliffs at Boscombe Beach and to the many famous seafronts at Bournemouth. Further west is the upmarket Sandbanks, with its stunning sandy beach. A car ferry from here takes you to Studland — showcasing an incredible wild bay stretching miles to Swanage — and providing easy access to the beautiful Isle of Purbeck peninsula and Corfe Castle. RSPB Arne and Poole Harbour are further attractions in this area. Continuing along Dorset is the incredible Jurassic Coast stretching West from Swanage.
