"TravelLodge featured a comfortable clean room that is well maintained. The only convenience I missed was there is no coffeemaker in the room as is common many places. BUT... if that is the only comment, this place is really good. I will stay there again if passing through the area, Penny's Diner adjacent to the Hotel is an easy affordable coffee source, Penny's Diner staff were super friendly, cool personalities and classic short order menu that most youngsters in other areas do not get to experience, It is also very convenient that the Hotel Front us co-located there. One last item of interest: CSX (Railroad) has a contract with that location. "Crew Lounge" is not a guest area, It is for their employees. The morning after I simply looked in there and walked out, unsuspectingly, a big prominent sign was on the closed door that I did not see when it was open. Understanding the importance of honoring contracts, and hosting in-transit personnel, I suggest TravelLodge inform non-CSX guests to avoid uncomfortable moments or Paper Signs telling the unsuspecting traveller to "Keep Out"."

"Overall we enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. A special appreciation for Rebecca, she checked us in Friday night and was excellent. The only downside was tge alarm went off several times Friday night and Saturday night. Not sure if someone was smoking but it was annoying and interrupted our rest."

"This was the perfect getaway for my wife and I. The house was clean and exactly as advertised. Mitch and Bobbie were always quick to respond to any messages and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We spent our days kayaking down the river and the nights making s’mores by the campfire. If you’re looking for a nature getaway, this is the perfect place! We could not recommend highly enough!"

"BOOK THIS HOUSE! Stop looking at all those other places-- THIS is the ONE! We looked at so many places when trying to book our anniversary trip this year, and really has trouble deciding, but I'm so incredibly glad we landed on Deer Ridge Manor! First of all, deer were waiting for us when we pulled up, and they came to visit every day. We saw beautiful birds and were constantly greeted with song. It's an absolutely idyllic spot! Sitting in the hot tub at the end of a long night of hiking/kayaking, it was so incredibly peaceful! Secondly, we stayed for 10 days and I brought a ton of cooking supplies with us, including my KitchenAid mixer! Turns out, Alex has thought of seriously everything, and I never really needed anything I brought. There's pots and pans, a griddle, an electric flat top grill, a blender, pizza pans, muffin tins, etc! There's a cheese grater, measuring cups, and an excellent set of knives. Tons of spices, oil, cooking spray (and now a bottle of balsamic that I bought and didn't use!) You'll want for nothing. There are excellent little local markets in Lexington, although we sadly missed the Farmer's Market! Food Lion, Kroger, and more are just a 25 minutes drive. Highly recommend Heliotrope Brewing Co for delicious mezze and pizza- and my husband loved their beer. Great coffee shops and ice cream shops, too!We had zero trouble with the driveway, and I drive a Prius. And it was absolutely perfect for our dogs! They have everything you need! Thank you!!!"

"We had a pleasant stay, and the location was excellent for visiting the Warm Springs Pools, which are right across the street. The only issue was our late-night arrival from Maryland. The doors were locked, and the front desk was unstaffed. After we called and left a voicemail, the manager text-messaged us clear instructions on how to get into the property. If you plan to arrive after-hours, definitely call them in advance! Breakfast wasn't quite what we expected, either. A few items are free, but you actually get a 50% discount on the full breakfast price for being a guest. Despite these minor hitches, we had a lovely time. Highly recommend!"

"Excellent staff. The room was a bit warm because the sun hits the room all afternoon, but we were out for the day. Maybe bring a small fan for the night to help out the a/c. It was a hot July day and a/c was working overtime. Comfortable bed. No amenities but there is a community pool down the street you can use for a small fee. Breakfast-you might want to eat out but we managed. Eggs and heated vegetables, and you have to look for the breakfast area or you’ll miss it. Okay for an overnight stay in a small town if you’re passing through. Beautiful scenery and I highly recommend a picnic at the Humpback covered bridge and also Petticoat Junction nearby if you love butterflies!"

"My husband and I had a wonderful stay here for our anniversary getaway. The location was perfect and peaceful and central to everything we wanted to do, especially the trail and Lake Moomaw. We will definitely be back for another visit and have already told all our friends about it. Gary and Pam are phenomenal and by far the best hosts I've ever experienced."
