"Perfect location, very nice and clean room. Our port view suite is massive, we have 4 people staying in the room (with our teenager children), we all have lots of space. Two separate toilets in the suite too! Staff are really friendly and helpful, helped with our luggage to the third floor. Very nice experience! Only downside is that the music from B52 night club (on the other side of the port) is very loud in the evening."

"Our hosts were amazing and the hotel was convenient to lots of wonderful restaurants and tons of shopping. If you are renting a car, it’s not very convenient to drive around the town or park. If you have a difficult time walking around or using stairs, you should know, the hotel has some pretty challenging stairs. "We spent four nights at this property, and overall, it was a 10 out of 10 experience, especially the staff who provided exceptional service from beginning to end. The highlights of the property include clean rooms, a refreshing and well-maintained pool excellent after a long day of sightseeing in the Sardinian heat, a delicious breakfast, including everything necessary to start your day, a great beach (not on property) with drink and food service, and an amazing after hours bartender (Gabriele) who made our stay extra special by always taking the time to speak with us. The only con is the distance into town. It’s a 15 to 20 minute walk, and with the Sardinian heat, it was too long. We tried it once and then opted to drive into town."

"Hotel Excelsior is all about the location. It’s right in the centre of La Maddalena, with an amazing waterfront position where you can sit and watch the ferries come and go. I booked a sea view room, which was definitely worth it and easily the highlight of the stay. The rooms are on the small side but were clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was excellent, which made a big difference during the warmer weather. Breakfast was decent without being anything special, but again, the incredible view makes it a much more enjoyable experience. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel does not have its own parking, despite what you might expect. All parking is on the street, so don’t arrive assuming there’s private parking available. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want to be in the heart of town with fantastic views, great air conditioning, and easy access to everything La Maddalena has to offer."

"We were very kindly received at the reception desk after we „survived” a deception on our arrival in Porto Vecchio, because the owner of the apartment we had originally booked pretended that he had cancelled the booking, which was not true. The staff at Le Balamina made us feel safe regarding our stay in Porto Vecchio. We also had a delicious continental breakfast. We can‘t but recommend this Hotel which is not far from the port."

"The hotel is very well situated in a quiet area of Palau and the sea view balcony rooms have an incredible view out over the marina and beyond. The room was nice, a shame that the door did not line up to see the view out. The air conditioning and bathroom were great, but there are no tea/coffee making facilities and the bed was not overly comfortable. Over a 4 night stay, there were 2 significant power cuts in the area, one of which went on for a few hours and made the room uncomfortable. The WiFi was absolutely awful throughout the entire stay."
