Filthy, mis-represented and zero facilities
We chose this “chic apartment” over a terraced cottage that was 50% cheaper as we thought it was Christmas and we deserved a bit of luxury. We arrived after an 8 hour drive to a terraced house in a poor area. All the bedding and towels were of the poorest quality I had ever seen. The beds were full of hair, pubic and otherwise. The shower tray was filthy with added pubic hair. There were rubbish bags in kitchen cupboards. No kitchen equipment, no potato peeler, corkscrew, utensils, oven trays, grill pan handle. The microwave was unusable as it had exposed rusty metal inside which rendered it dangerous. No hanging facilities, not even a hook on the back of the bedroom doors. No drawers just some shelves in the front bedroom. The bedside light was useless as no socket to plug it into. Too large TV had no live channels just streaming service, so we couldn’t watch Xmas programmes we were looking forward to. Random belt left by previous occupant in bedroom. Strange Tupperware bowl on toilet top. And many, many more problems. After complaining and sleeping elsewhere that night, we were telephoned by the owner apologising for the house with the excuse that he had been travelling. He said that they would have “another deep clean” and bring a hanging rail and would we go and inspect the following afternoon, we agreed. I am running out of space as only 1500 characters so just going to say that it was worse when we went back. VRBO refusing to give us our money back. Stay away!
