I liked the vibe of the hostel. Very wondefully designed and it encourages people to socialize. The bunk beds don't make noise when you move through them. The hostel is clean, the showers and bathrooms are nice, and, staff is helpful, and there are activites scheduled everyday to entertain the travelers! Keep note that while the maps location of the hostel is accurate, there is no sign at all that exposes the hostel's location. Only a small label at the building directory will tell you you are in the right place. The hostel is in the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans, Italy has a zero floor!)

I loved staying here. It's in the center of the city so super convenient, the people that work here are very friendly and helpful, all the rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily, and it has a really cozy vibe, like staying in a friend's apartment.

Sad it was just 1 night stay
Had a great stay. Very clean hostel, great location, friendly staff. I liked the beds though the curtains are bit short and don't give privacy. There are 3 shared bathrooms which seem a bit limited for the whole hostel. The toilets are clean and spacious. The kitchen space is clean and has all that is needed, including free tea, coffee and cold watermt eh breakfast is decent but go early as it finishes quickly. I was sad to leave as hostel was fully booked and there was no room to extend

Very spacious rooms
A very nice hostel with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast provided which is excellent. Good location. The only downside is the lack of bathrooms, only three which are often being used. Really need to provide separate toilets from showers.

Over all it was alright, the place got a pleasant style and is very clean. Just a few small things, the curtain covering my bed at dormetry was just a bit too small to fully cover it. Electricity disappeared in our room in the morning for a while. Having to pay for a towel didn't feel right either.

Dear Monta, we are not surprised, but litteraly shocked by your review.After you got back competely drunk the second night bringing a NON guest in the hostel at 5 am, and decide to sleep on the floor of one of the shared bathroom, blocking it till 9 am and not allowing other guests to use it, after you pee yourself and got a FREE towel from our collage Charlotte and some water from another guest to recover, after you had the chance to sleep 2 hours after check out in your bed because you felt to bad for the hangover, after all our kindness...do you really think that's honorable to complain because of a curtain? Well, we don't think so. BTW the electricit was off for a couple of hour because we had a planned sanificationa and maintainance work to run in your room and we had to disconnect electrecity for the everyone security.

The rooms were high quality and the blinds for the bed were good. Could have done with bigger lockers. There is often a wait for bathrooms. Would be good idea to have toilet separate from showers so you don’t have to wait for people to finish showering for the loo. The staff were ok but their advice wasn’t great they just sent you to the most popular restaurants that every tourist goes too. It would be nice to be asked if wanted map or information too. Bigger sign if possible outside would also help as in the evening might be hard to find as even in the day I walked past.

Thanks for your suggestion and your review. About the map we try to now waste paper, so if you ask for a map we'll give it to you for free and with pleasure but we don't offer you a map because we are pretty sure that it would bring to a wasting of maps not used. About suggestion we don't agreem we just give suggestion about the best restaurant of the area that we personally already tried and that 99% of our guests enjoy. In any case is really hard to find bad restaurant in Bologna. About the big sign we cannot put bigger sign because of the building rules, otherwise we would for sure. About the bathroom unfortunately we cannot build more bathroon because we have not space to but with our suggestion about the use you can avoid the queue. Hope to see you soon. Best

Great assistance via email for late check in. Friendly staff who let me leave my bag in the communal area for a couple of hours after check in. Breakfast was lovely. I was not provided with a towel though.

It was ok, but not for what you pay. I know it is a hostel but you can find a hotel for the same price and in a better location. They charge you an extra if you want to have a towel.

Hip, small hostel next to the best street in Italy
I think I've outgrown hostels. A higher end, hip-looking dorm with foam beds and clean but worn sheets, very clean communal bathroom, decent continental breakfast, friendly young concierge with a wry sense of humor. The janitor was crazy, just so full of energy, talking so much, very friendly and very manic, which between the two made the place feel a bit homier than the usual hostel. A pretty small place. I was arriving late from the airport and though they don't have a 24hr concierge, they took extra precaution to ensure that I was able to check in, which I really appreciated since I was sick. Above all, it's steps away from my favorite street in Italy: Via Mascarella. Go to the Modo Infoshop bar (and bookstore, if you're so inclined). Not touristic, a bit sketchy, and a decent away from the sights, Via Mascarella just has a wonderful feel to it. You might get beaten up if not careful, but every time I've been I end up making weird friends, drinking and eating really (REALLY) well, and you might even catch some live music. Great area to get lost in.

A good stay despite a couple of drawbacks
The shower drain was clogged, so I was standing in dirty water while showering. And the beds are just mattresses placed inside giant boxes stacked on top of each other. Otherwise the hostel was fine. The staff were friendly and cooked dinner for us for only 5 euros (including wine), which was fun.

Hello, actually we had a problem that day with the shower that you use, but we have fix it and now is totally fine. About the beds, actually we built up a really huge structrure to make each guest to feel more privacy than usual. That means that we built up big boxes in iron and wood, which most of our guest appreciate. Also that keep the structure so solid, that if someone else move in the bed beside or under, nobody notice it. Which is uncommon for normal bunk beds. Also we provide curtains in the bed to improve the privacy. Thanks for have been our guest! :)

Very nice place to stay!
Both check in and out were quick and painless and the counter staff was friendly. Our private room including a personal bathroom was clean, spacious and comfortable. Complementary breakfast was good and other guests were friendly respecting each other. Street noise at night can be loud, so make sure to bring earplugs.

Dopa Hostel: Convenient luxury hostel
Our double room was spacious with a spotless bathroom. The staff was simply excellent. Dopa is very well located near the University of Bologna, the bus station, and the center of town. Highly recommended!

Ganske særlig stemning mødte os med receptionens puder og musik og ungdommelighed med plads til guitarspillende, Tai Chi øvende gæster med varme smil og en fællesskabsstemning. Samtidig styr på reglerne og det praktiske så man er i gode hænder. Mulighed for at joine fællesspisning to gange om ugen og dejlig morgenmad i fælleskøkkenet, hvor der er plads til at lave mad og spise ved langbordet.
