Also, for my ESA (registered with the VA) I would suggest letting dog owners know that the nearby beach as well as the three beaches north are not dog friendly.

Due to proximity to the ocean doors were sticking and door and gate hardware was corroding but I think that would be expected. The cabin, fireplace, furniture, dishwasher, excellent wi-fi and easy walk to the beach and Salmon Creek are all positives. The neighborhood was very quiet. Also another positive is the easy drive to restaurants and shops.

Lovely stay

What a sweet little cottage with a lovely location just steps from Salmon Creek and beach. I spent a quiet week working with great internet access and grandchildren ages 5 and 6 came over the weekend and enjoyed the cute twin bedroom and walk to beach. Would definitely recommend for singles, couples or small family. Can't wait to return!

Fisherman's Cottage

The cottage is quaint though is in need of some minor general repair. All doors to outside need to be weather sealed (very drafty). Some dishes/cups are chipped (in several places) and should be replaced. Yard is overgrown. Location is great, easy & quick walk to the beach. Overall it was a nice stay.

Cosy house Great location

The house is bright, cosy and welcoming. It was cool at night but the gas fireplace made the livingroom cosy. The beds were comfortable and the location is perfect: quiet, 2 minutes from the sand dunes and beach and close to beautiful hikes and great seafood restaurants. I hope we can come back to Bodega Bay.

The perfect cottage

We rented the cottage to be near our grown kids who were camping at Doran Beach. It was such a pleasant surprise to enter the quaint fishing village and find the cottage perched up on the hill with a slice of a view of Salmon River and the ocean in the distance. The house was appointed with everything you could need, beds were very comfortable, shower was great, electric wood stove made for a very cozy retreat from the cold windy weather we were experiencing. Location was perfect...close to everything and a very short walk to a beautiful stretch of beach. We will certainly be hoping to return to this charming cottage in the future.

Heaven on earth!

The coziest of cozy cottages! Everything here was an ideal portrait of bodega bay. I don’t think we’ve ever felt more at home in a rental. Pure bliss! Beds? So comfy, storage tucked away everywhere. Everything we needed in the kitchen. We’re already planning a return trip to THIS home from GEORGIA! Love it and highly recommend it. But save some weeks for us! CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN!

Love Bodega Bay!

The Salmon Creek House was adorable and perfect for our family vacation. It had everthing we needed and I love the electric fireplace for heat. Walking distance to an awesoe beach. My grandchildren loved sliding down the sand dunes. We never would have thought to do that but it was listed as "sand sleds" available for the dunes along with pictures. Can't wait to return for another visit. THANK YOU!!

Charming cottage

1st stay at Fisherman's Cottage and we were thrilled with the cottage. Close walking distance to beach. Cottage clean, comfortable, had all the essentials we needed. Had a couple of issues, called for assistance and received prompt service, including serviceman coming to cottage to check heater. Excellent. Only other issue were ants in the kitchen each morning. Let management know at our departure. We will be booking again!!!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent three nights in the cottage the weekend before Thanksgiving so we paid a premium price and it was a good location for sightseeing in the area. We had no toilet paper the first night, but the rental company delivered some the next morning, and then we had a power outage, and there were no emergency lanterns, No batteries in Flashlight nor matches for a candle. We had very limited cell service but I was able to make a call and the rental company sent a handyman out with two emergency lanterns and fire lighter stick. The rental company apologized, but it was very harrowing since my husband is handicapped. I would recommend if you’re staying there to take your own paper products and make sure you have a flashlight.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my second visit to Fisherman's Cottage and we loved it. The cottage is charming and the location is perfect for a quiet get-away, but also close enough to do some exploring in the area. We would like to suggest that guests are notified of garbage day (we were not prepared the morning of the trucks arrival and parked too close to the walkway, making it hard for them to gather the bins. We also had a bit of an ant issue on the counter at the stove near the refrigerator. (Not a major issue, but we realized we couldn't leave food out). We loved using the fireplace and appreciate easy directions on use. We would suggest that 1-2 boxes of facial tissue be available for your guests. Also, in the second bedroom, the switches for the above beds lights were reversed(lots of cords and extensions) so the first night the light was left on as the switch could not be located. (the light above the bed closest to the window did not work)...I loved the main bedroom! The heated mattress pad was fantastic and the bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed everything, even ventured up to the crows nest to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Great time....thanks

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the Fisherman's Cottage is nearly perfect. Just a block and a half from South Salmon Creek beach, which I enjoyed more than any other beach in the region. Yes, you have to walk over a dune to get to the beach, but the path is easy even for me as a senior citizen. You can hear the surf from the decks, and get a peek-a-boo ocean view from the back deck and the dining area. It is a quiet neighborhood, a very short drive to town. The cottage was very well stocked with kitchen supplies, washer/dryer and a dishwasher. The gas stove in the living room was pretty but the blower was very loud which was unfortunate since it is the primary source of heat for the cottage. It detracts from the otherwise very quiet and lovely ambiance to run it. The cottage did have some deferred maintenance issues. The outdoor areas surrounding the decks are pretty unsightly and every tree and bush and plant needs to be trimmed: I nearly tripped on roots right in the main door path and did hit my head on the tree that almost blocks the entrance to the front patio. Some of the furniture should be replaced; the old dresser in the main bedroom was pretty, but the handles were almost falling off and the drawers stuck. Cleaning was good but not perfect (some shelves were dusty; laundry room was not clean). I was a bit turned off by lack of explanation on recycling: instructions are to 'put the right items in the right bin'. OK, but which 'right' items go in which 'right' bin? WHAT is recyclable? You are also told in a LONG statement (the longest instruction on anything) that you would be charged for 'ruined' linens and are encouraged to use paper towels for cleaning. This is NOT a green solution, get some cleaning towels that one can use without worry of a charge if the dish towels are too valuable! Still, those shortcomings are minor compared to the positives. The cottage was cozy, comfortable and nicely decorated, and again, in a near-perfect location.

We really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was easy and the kitchen was convenient. I highly recommend kayaking on the Russian River. We had a fantastic tour guide and there were very few people around so we got to enjoy the wildlife. Being from Wisconsin, we have always poked fun at the California Happy Cow commercials. It turns out that the cows in Sonoma County do appear happy. I can't yet vouch for the rest of your beautiful state.
