Very nice place it was quite surprising, incredible price. Views were worth the visit as well such a beautiful spot everywhere we looked, very well done!
Very cool property. Beautiful landscaping. Beautiful log cabins. Very helpful staff. Wish we could have stayed longer. We had a cabin to ourselves and was more than plenty of space for our family of 4 and 2 big dogs. We will make it an annual stop on our way to the coast!
Room was lovely. IMMACULATE. huge shower, gorgeous log cabin construction of all units. Easy hike around Lake, beautiful grounds. Will definitely stay here again!!!
We had a last minute change in our travel plans so we booked this place for the night, and now we will forever be booking here on our summer trips down to the Okanagan. We normally would book in Valemount since it is about half way, but with how nice the cabin was, we won’t be booking anywhere else. All the linens were soft and nice. It is a cabin so some of the fixtures or things were outdated, but that just added to the charm of the cabin. Staff was great with the small amount we did talk with them, they were very approachable and felt like they would be willing to help with anything we may have needed. The restaurant across the road was also really great and the service was good.
We had a wonderful one-night stay in Blue River, especially at Mike's Place! Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The rain shower was absolutely amazing—the perfect way to relax after a day of traveling.
One of the highlights was fishing in the private pond, where we caught a few beautiful rainbow trout. It made our stay even more memorable.
Overall, this was the perfect stop on our journey. We highly recommend Mike's Place to anyone passing through Blue River!
My daughter and I stayed for one night this week and we loved it! It has to be one of our favorite booking surprises. The chalets are adorable and super spacious. Very clean. The staff was absolutely incredible and sweet - our fave was for sure the "greeting puppy" ha! We even talked about coming back again when we have more time to explore the lake. The only unfortunate part was how close the train is but to be honest I didn't hear a thing during the night (they provide earplugs which was adorable but I didn't need them) but maybe it was because the beds and pillows are so soft and comfy. We will absolutely be returning!
What a sweet find! Love this special place. My friend and I shared a cabin with a common area but separate ensuite rooms. Clean, comfortable, and with nice walking trails. Highly recommend!
I did arrive after the Front Desk times, but when I pulled up to the lobby area, there was a staff member at the counter able to check me in and give me my key. I did have a bit of a struggle finding parking, there wasn’t a lot of available parking and due to their not being parking lines. People were parked all crooked, but after finding a spot further away from where my room was the room was not hard to find. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The property is very beautiful. I did stay for only one night. It was a quick just overnight sleeping spot, but I would definitely recommend the property. It’s very beautiful for a much longer stay as well.
A really enjoyable stay. Being there in May is a totally different experience than in the winter but we loved the fresh green surroundings.
Staff at reception were the only ones we saw and they were terrific. Love little Ronnie the dachshund! Hope he becomes their hotel mascot.
Also loved the heated floor in the bathroom - even in the summer.
On the unfortunate side there were so many mosquitos along the lake path and around the cabins and entire property that we couldn’t even enjoy the scenery or a walk. Room was quite warm and didn’t have AC like most other hotels. The restaurant you had to walk across the main Hwy and 4 lanes to get too. A train runs near the property several times a day to where they leave you complementary ear plugs beside the bed. On the good side the staff was friendly and the rooms were nice other than being warm and the beds were super comfy. Chances are we wouldn’t stay again
Bed was comfy. We arrived late and office was helpful to leave us directions in case we arrived when they were closed. Room was clean. Saw a couple of the pest repellent plugs in the wall which always makes me nervous why they are there to begin with but luckily we didn’t see any creatures. Nice big fridge and loved the set up of the fireplace all ready to go for us. Thanks for the stay.
