Spectacular!!
My husband and I came up for a quick trip. We were invited to a friend’s wedding. The house was beyond clean and we loved every part of it. We were only a 10 min drive from the wedding venue and downtown. We truly enjoyed our time in your cabin.

Anniversary trip
The cabin is very beautiful and in a quiet area. We were celebrating our 47th anniversary. The owners were so thoughtful and had a card and nice bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. We appreciated it so much. My mother had passed away the week before so it nice to have some quiet time to start the healing process. We worked two 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles while we were there. Something we love to do but usually are too busy at home to manage to fit in. I would most definitely stay there again.

Awesome President’s Day Weekend!
Our long weekend trip to The Getaway was perfect! Played lots of pool, enjoyed the hot tub and indoor/outdoor Bluetooth stereo sound system, and the new shower in the master bedroom was a great addition! Very peaceful! Watching deer pass by in the mornings was a plus also! This was our second trip to The Getaway and can’t wait to return!

We had an amazing time watching tv with the fire going, sitting on the deck watching animals, in the hot tub, playing pool even just playing cards. The house was amazing and in a very relaxing location! Couldn't have went anywhere better!

Our home away from home!
I believe this was our fifth time of staying at the cabin. We love the peace of it and look forward to going every single year. We’ve already booked again for this upcoming year. The owners are extremely communicative and very helpful with anything you might possibly need. I highly recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a sweet little place as a home away from home.

Spacious in quiet location
We arrived at this location for the first time after dark. This involved several gravel roads, tight spaces, and sharp turns. If you arrive after dark, be prepared to take your time. The house itself was well furnished and very clean. It's not the quietest cabin around though- the floor creaks; if its breezy you'll hear the windchimes at all hours. Same with random pops and squeaks from the building itself. If you're a light sleeper, bring white noise. The master bedroom bed was too soft for us. We ended up using the firmer mattress upstairs. Despite the length of comments here, we really enjoyed this location. I think it needs some TLC, but it was still a great experience

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful and the host has I think everything there that you would need. Blue Ridge is such a cool little town. We’ll definitely look to come back and use this host’s property again when we do.

Beautiful cabin in the woods. This cabin was very cozy and welcoming. The fireplace was perfect for the cold nights. My son really enjoyed playing pool and having the entire upstairs to himself. The cabin was exactly as described. I would highly recommend this place to anyine who plans on visiting the area.

Back woods experience
October means lots of color and cool weather. Fireplace was cozy and the bed upstairs was nice and firm. Nice pool table. The road to the Getaway is a bit of a challenge, but very quiet once you're there.

Little Cabin in the Woods
This was to cutest little house in the woods. Clean and well appointed. Pool table and air hockey upstairs with 2nd bedroom, ping-pong in basement. The house was easy to access, clean and comfortable. Close to town but far enough away to be peaceful and serene. We will book again when we are in the area. An absolute 10 out of 10 gem.

The Getaway Didn’t Disappoint
We were looking for a place to go for a week & just relax & recharge. The Getaway was the best choice we could of ever made. So quiet & peaceful. The only neighbors we had were the animals outside. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfy, I had no trouble falling asleep. The girls enjoyed the upstairs bedroom & loved playing pool. Never laughed so hard playing ping pong. Couldn’t recommend a better place to stay to relax & recharge.

Exceptional!!
This house was spotless!! So comfortable and everything was labeled and so easy to find and use. There was nothing missing. We came just to spend time relaxing and this was the house for it! Lots of games, comfy seating, screened porch and a stereo with speakers out to the hot tub. Couple considerations for travelers. The upstairs bed is firm, we just picked up a cheap memory foam topper and it was perfect. Motorcycle Riders: We trailered our bike this time around since we were with others. The road in has lots of potholes and short areas of gravel. It took a little maneuvering but we were able to get it in by the house. However, the driveway up is very steep with loose gravel. We made it work until the last day when we were putting up the bike. Loose gravel and a steep down turn caused us to lay it over. We ended up doing a lot of damage to a brand new bike. So be forewarned and plan ahead to park it elsewhere. It just isn’t safe and could have been a lot worse. Almost 30 years of riding and one big rookie mistake.

Perfect getaway
This is a well stocked, well maintained cabin in the Blue Ridge mountains. Greg and Jill thought about everything we might need for a comfortable stay including a strong WiFi signal. During our stay a storm rolled through and knocked out the tv/ internet at about 8pm. I called the property manager who reached out to Greg. Ten minutes later Greg called me and walked me through the system and reconnected the WiFi. Great service! We highly recommend The Getaway cabin and would not hesitate to return.

We enjoyed the pool table and air hockey during a rainy day. The screened in porch was very relaxing. My brother and his wife were thrilled to see 3 big deer walking across the road into the yard. I would recommend making sure you get to the property before dark. It is on a mountain road and very hard to see at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Cabin in the Woods
My husband and I stayed here for a week and had a great time! Loved the bear decor and cabin vibes. Everything you could need is provided. The screened in porch was very nice. The hot tub was very nice and private. The fireplace was cozy and the space was very comfortable. Although there was shopping and other activities very nearby, we were content a lot of the time just relaxing on the porch or sitting by the fireplace in the evenings enjoying a show. Absolutely recommend and would return.

A gem deep in the woods
3/12/23 to 3/26/23 We have stayed in many VRBO and once in a while a superb experience occurs. This was the time! This cabin was way larger than anticipated. It was furnished very tastefully and furnishings were comfortable and efficient. The owners definitely take pride in their choices and make it very comfortable for their renters. The place was immaculate in cleanliness and directions inside the cabin for nearly everything was a pleasant easy to follow surprise. Beds were very comfortable as were the sofa and chairs. Cute bear ambiance everywhere! Hot tub a plus and a great wrap around balcony to sit and enjoy the beauty in front of you. A winding road into the woods to the cabin was a careful drive. The parking area is plentiful but could use some more gravel to not make it so bumpy. This cabin would be great for two couples or a small family. Would love to come back in the fall for the colors. Excellent choice for us! Thank you for your hospitality!

Everything about this Cabin is Fabulous. Any and Everything you think about bringing to a Cabin don't. They have thought of it already. When they named this Cabin it was spot on "The Getaway" and it definitely that and more. The cleanliness was it for me. Loved how the owners and Greg made the Cabin feel like a home away from feel. We didn't get a chance to play pool or ping pong but much enjoyed the Hot Tub and the conversation we had in the screened in porch. We will definitely be back.
