"Stayed 2 nights in the historic room located in the Lowen Haus that is stunning! Felt like I was in an Architecture Digest video. Service was excellent and so was dinner at the a la carte restaurant; I may even say I had the best meals by far during my 1 week in Switzerland. While the surrounding area is relatively quiet, location of the hotel is just a short walk from Gonten station which takes you to Appenzell town within 15 minutes. "We had such a super stay at the Seehof. The staff were fabulous and the ice cream sundaes we had in the restaurant when we arrived were very tasty! The hotel is situated on the edge of the lake with wonderful views. It’s just a few minutes level walk into the centre with bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel food looked great but there’s not much choice for vegetarians like us (not unusual in Switzerland) there so we found a nice Mexican place nearby.
