Smiddy Cottage sits within its own fenced garden overlooking a large pond with stunning views across Glenshee to Mount Blair and hills/forests of Drumore. Smiddy has been renovated to a high standard and includes traditional features, exposed stone walls & wooden beams.
Smiddy has a spacious king-size master bedroom, twin bedroom, family bathroom with bath & separate shower, open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and living room with woodburning stove.
Facilities within the cottage include dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric cooker, fridge, freezer & well-equipped kitchen. Heating is by oil central heating and woodburning stove. All heating, power and logs are included in the price of your stay. Ample off-road parking.
Pets welcome. Ideal location for walking, cycling, touring and fishing. Glenshee Ski Centre 20 minutes away.
Please be aware that there is a gate from the garden directly into the field that contains a large pond, so care should be taken with children.

Home away from home
A lovely little cottage on a picturesque setting. We absolutely had an amazing time here and felt instantly at home, the hot tub was a great touch with a view of the stars on a clear night. We will definitely be back.

Overall very enjoyable stay, few things to be aware of.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Smiddy Cottage! We loved the location for its proximity to stunning landscape and local villages to visit.
The cottage has many positives including its clean, spacious and well stocked with kitchen utensils. The garden is very nice (not the greatest view) and the biggest positive for us was enjoying the hot tub on a clear night whilst gazing at the stars.
A few things on the listing could have been made clearer including, the proximity of the cottage to the road, there is a fast road right next to the cottage, the cottage is also one of approx 4-5 properties on the same area, neither of these were a problem to us but could be to others.
The cottage is overall very neat and tidy but could do with a lick of paint in a few areas and the master bedroom mattress could do with replacing as it's very creaky (though we both still slept well).
Like we say overall a very enjoyable stay, the multiple positives definitely outwaying the few drawbacks, no place is ever going to be 100% for everyone but this is defo coming it at 95% for us! 😎

This property as a whole was very impressive.
when we arrived this Spacious and very up to date cottage with usual mod cons was just what we were after.
The hot tub was kept clean for the whole of our stay.
The view was not as good as we were led to believe nor were we told that the property was beside the main Rd to Glenshee. Easier to find the place but had to deal with constant traffic during the day which was pretty poor for relaxing when the motorbikes were letting rip on the way past.
We also had a problem with the furniture as the flies seem to gather on it, maybe because dogs have been allowed on the seats (evident with the dogs hairs).
The cottage is not on it's own as there is another four lets plus the owners farm house within 100 mts.
Not a bad place but we could not get the benefit of being in the country with the traffic just over the hedge.

heaven in the wild
Nice and comfy, looks out from large window over pond with all the attractions you would expect including a Heron.
Good sized rooms clean and tidy, log fire if you need it.
Want some relaxation this is it, hot tub included.

Excellent Little Cottage
This cottage was so lovely, it was in a quiet location and the hot tub was amazing! We really appreciated the chocolate and shortbread which was left, and the personal touch of the recommendations of places to go. We would definitely come back!

Escape from it all
A fantastic base to explore this lovely part of Scotland whether your interested in hill walking, cycling, sightseeing and fishing.
The Smiddy cottage is fully equipped for upto 4 people. The hot tub is lovely to relax in anytime of the day. The wood burning stove is lovely for a warm cosy atmosphere if your having a night in.

a real getaway of peace &quiet
we had a wonderful stay. with sues home made scones waiting for us on arrive.a well equipped cottage. fabulous views and the hot tub and log burner were GREAT.we did not want to leave.so will go back for sure.a great find
