Nightmare Motel!!! Carpet was filthy!! Drunk couple fought until 2 a.m. and only stopped because I got up to contact the manager/owners. Was unsuccessful and had to call the police! Finally got to sleep at 3 am and had a 12 hour drive that day. When I contacted the owners the next day, they offered a $40 refund which I felt was an insult given the circumstances. This motel is highly overated and bookers should think twice before booking!!
room with kitchen. Room decor is 1950's style. The bed's matrass was soft and sagged in the middle. Since room furnishings and bathroom were old, could not tell if they were clean. This is a problem during the covid-19 pandemic.
I'm an old customer of the Bishop Village Motel, ... stayed there many times. ... It's is simply excellent in all respects; location, amenities, staff, cleanliness, and reasonably priced. It's why I keep going back.

I reserve my room with Expedia and was on the road for six hours on my motorcycle and when I got there they had given my room away. Horrible!
Wonderful place. Lovely room with walk in closet. Full kitchen with table, chairs, stoves, fridge, microwave, utensils, pans etc.
Bathroom has shower.
Privately owned and has lots of personal touches
I have a mixed review for this property. We were staying only one night on our way to the Eastern Sierra. But no matter how long your stay, they hit you with at $13.50 "resort fee," which is not reflected in the listing. So, that hotel floats to the top of the cheapest properties at $98, but ends up costing $111 if you only stay one night.
On the other hand, we found out that our room had a complete kitchen, with full-size refrigerator and cooking stove. Had we been staying for several days, this would have been an amazing bonus, but was rather useless for us.
This place was crazy amazing! A faithful throwback to the old motor court motels, our room included a kitchen with a full-size fridge and stove / oven. It would be a wonderful place to hole up for more than a few weeks any time of year.
I never even saw the staff; they operated on the honor system, but made sure check-in was a snap.
The only negative was that the beds were rock-hard. Otherwise, though, it was a very charming experience, and we'll stay there whenever we're passing through.
The room smelled and although I called to see if there was a pool and told there was a pool, there was no water in the pool. The office remained closed the entire time I was there-never saw an employee. They lost my second night reservation and basically called me to ask why I was still there. Upon discussion, they finally found the reservation but never apologized. I would never stay there again.
There was never any staff available in the office however they managed to call me on the second day wondering why I hadn't checked out-they had lost my second night reservation. They finally found it and made no apologies. The room smelled, the pool was empty of water. Guess I forgot to ask when I asked if there was a pool to ask if there was water in it. It was 90 degrees outside and no pool.
It was quite good. The people were wonderful and very attentive. It was "homey" and comfortable. The price was reasonable and within my personal budget. I would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
no functioning WiFi
This motel was in most respects satisfactory, but it has been my policy to assign an automatic rating of 1 to any establishment that advertises a service or amenity that they don't actually provide. The hotel had a router that was broadcasting an SSID, but it was impossible to actually connect to it. We tried with multiple devices, and went several times to the front desk, where the staff person was also unable to make anything connect.
Two other minor issues: A bathroom window was broken, and the heater in the bathroom was dead.
Great lil place amid the myriad of other hotels/motels. I will definitely come back. The option for a kitchen was high on my list. When i return to Bishop it will be to the Biship Village Motel.
The only reason I didn't give the comfort a 5...the bed was a bit soft for my taste and the BBQ on the patio didn't get hot enough to actually use. Again...I will definitely return and stay longer.
The property is absolutely adorable. All the throw-back charm we were hoping for, but with updated amenities. The grounds are very well maintained, the room clean and comfortable. The only (minor) complaint we had was about the pool. We chose this hotel specifically because they touted their heated pool, but it definitely wasn't heated to the 100 degrees that they advertised. Otherwise, we would probably stay there again.
Hotel is very old, NO FRILLS, could have been cleaner. there was something sticky all over the kitchenette floor. wanted to let the front desk know but they close at 10:00pm, you can call on your cell to them if you need them. Room was very small and tight.
This little motor-inn has great charm. It may cost a little more than the Travelodge, but cheaper than Best Western. The rooms are clean and have character. I would recommend this place to anyone. The pool is cute and there's a nice out door seating area with a grill. The owners are so kind and personable. Stay here when traveling through Bishop.
