So, there were several good things about the house:
- We loved being in Bethany, which was the perfect, family-friendly town for our vacation
- The house was spacious and well-appointed, so there was plenty of room to spread out (and LAUNDRY, yay!)
- We liked the location and all the amenities of Sea Colony (the pools, the tram to the beach, the friendly staff)
- The location of the property within Sea Colony was nice, with easy parking and a nice view of the little lake.
The not-so-good:
- The house was more run-down than the pictures showed. I could live with that, but there were obvious housekeeping issues. There was moldy bread in the kitchen, stains on the couch, a big rip in one of the armchairs, a half-used bar of soap on the floor of the master shower, hair in the master bath sinks...just ick.
- The master bedroom sheets had obviously been slept in. There was hair all over them, and they were rumpled. I found myself washing sheets at 9 pm when I was exhausted and desperate to go to bed.
I contacted Vacasa with photos, and the next day it appeared someone had come to change the sheets (a little late, but okay), but they never responded to the housekeeping issues. We texted back and forth a few times (no one ever answered the phone) and I haven't heard from them since.
All in all, it was disappointing -- I think the house is actually quite nice and if the housekeeping and property management had been better, we definitely could see ourselves coming back to this unit again next summer.
