Great little apartment, location

Check-in/out process was super easy, communication from the manager was great and easy to understand, the location was terrific and very convenient for wandering all around Berlin, and the property itself was comfortable, charming, and had all the amenities we needed. Would highly recommend Smartments to a friend and will likely book again next time i'm in Berlin!

Clean, convenient, and well-equipped.

One of the cleanest aparthotel rooms we ever stayed in, spotless even in the corners and hard to each spots. Bed was a bit too soft for us, but we prefer really firm mattresses. Apartment has everything you need and some nice extras (ex: toaster), really appreciated the sparkling water tap in the lobby and they provide jars of basics like salt, pepper, and cooking oil. Staff super friendly and helpful, location very convenient to S-bahn and tram as well as grocery stores. Great spot in Berlin and would stay again!

This is a great new build and steps away from the metro . The room was spotless. It's also a two minute walk to the supermarket. The only downside is that it's a half hour walk from the leafy suburb of Prenzlauer Berg and is located more in an area of new builds.

Had a wonderful stay at Smartments Prenzlauer Berg. Facility is modern, clean and located adjacent to the Landsberger Allee S-Bahn station - making transportation super convenient. There is a large grocery store within a block. There is a Doner restaurant that is open 24 hours (as of Sept 2024) next to the apartment complex. Room equipped with small refrigerator. Bed low but comfy. No air conditioning but did not need in September. Fan in room - which would definitely need in summer month. Occasionally hear trains since train station virtually next door but noise not bothersome. Easy and quick train commute to Berlin attractions such as Brandenburg Gate, etc. Highly recommend this apartment hotel and will gladly stay here again.

Exactly what I wanted

The property feels fairly automated. You scan your own keycard at reception. So didn't interact with anyone working in the building. Though my stay was rather short. Location is mixed I was right above the S bahn station. Fortune that I'm a heavy sleeper. And having that nearby connection was very helpful for my stay. It was perfect for what I wanted. A place with a kitchenette, close to transportation and not reliant on my non existent German to work. I will say the main discomfort was a lack of means to cool the flat. No AC or fan so humidity was a killer at night.

Wonderful place to stay. The apartment was very clean and quiet. Plenty of space to organize your stuff. The guys in the reception were super helpful and friendly. You won't be disappointed as you have the S-bahn and Tram just around the corner and a very convinient supermarket a few steps from the apartments. I will definitely book this place in the future.

It was quite noisy, cos of the Döner food downstairs.. To hot to close the windows. The bedsheets smelted awful like it was not clean and the floor wasn’t vacuumed.

Very good value. Modern, minimalist but well-equipped studios. Very clean. Great shower. Very convenient for S bahn. One or two technical issues - no self-check-in when we arrived at the property but sorted out via phone; and one of the two lifts had problems - but nothing serious. If heatwaves are going to be a regular event, lack of airconditioning might be an issue.

The first room that I was in had so much mold that I had to keep the bathroom door closed and run in while holding my breath to use the washroom. The mold was so bad that it didn't matter if the door was closed, my body was reacting so badly to this. I tried messaging the host MULTIPLE times but never got no response. I had to reach out to Expedia then I received an email saying the property will change you rooms. The receptionist took me into 3 different rooms which ALL still had mold so I had no choice but to choose the one with the least amount. I tried my best to avoid the bathroom but I had to shower at one point and wash my hair.. I go to turn on the shower and it DOESN'T WORK!!!!! little droplets of water came out which went from scorching hot to freezing cold. Once again, I reached out to the property and never got a response. The lights flickered, there was no toiletries, and I even had to go to the store to buy toilet paper because they didn't leave me enough. Needless to say this place was an absolute NIGHTMARE from the very first day to the last. Expedia tried to reach out to them in hopes of getting me a refund so I could go elsewhere but the property refused and Expedia did not help any further. This makes me never want to book another listing through Expedia, knowing these are the properties they have listed and are not willing to compensate or help in any way. It won't let me post the videos of the shower and the lights flickering but I have them.
