We enjoyed our stay and loved the location. Though, the check-in process was confusing, especially with no staff present. However, I was able to reach out to staff via Expedia, and he was very helpful. We look forward to retuning in the future.
Thank you!! 😊

Simple to check in… had lockers in the lobby to leave my things before check in which was great…
Room was relatively clean… except the carpet looked dirty…
I highly recommend the hotel to add a vending machine in the lobby as it is impossible to find water bottles for sale in Berlin. Would make for great business. I spent hours walking around trying to find water and nowhere could I find.
I’d say to remove the carpet in the rooms and have regular floor instead.
Trains overhead so very noisy throughout the night, and curtains let all the light in at 5am each morning. No staff around, but admittedly someone did deliver earplugs when I messaged the app. No coffee/tea in room and the "complimentary coffee machine" in the lobby was broken. My room had a broken window, and had graffiti all over the walls.
Plus side: earplugs provided when requested. Location is very central. Access very easy through email instructions.
I had a great stay at the Arte Luise Kunsthotel. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my visit. My room was clean, comfortable, and offered all the essential accommodations I needed for a smooth stay. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of major tourist sites, ahopping, great restaurants, and lively bars. For the price, this hotel delivers outstanding value. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Berlin.

I thought it was unclear how to enter the building and it was hard to enter because the wifi wasn't posted so I couldn't access my code. My wifi did not work in my room the entire trip. The room was nice. There was no conditioner and the soap was combined with the shampoo. I think this was a below average hotel experience, but the location was great.
The hotel was OK, the lobby is pretty, the location is very good. Be aware many rooms are next to the elevated train lines, so in those rooms you will slightly hear and see the trains all night. They are not that loud and the curtains are adequate but not fully blackout.
In addition, the listing on Hotels.com/Expedia is not fully accurate:
Food and Drink - There was no restaurant, snack bar or coffee/tea in common areas. There is a restaurant next door, outside the hotel. That is the nice bar picture that is included in the listing, again outside the hotel.
Breakfast - I believe the 15 Euro price listed in May 2026 is not current.
Library - There is a giant open area in the lobby. It is not really a library, more like a nice large lounge area.
Business Services - I did not see any.
Arte Luise is more hostel than hotel. Be careful of which rooms you get. Some don’t have their own bathrooms. I stayed on the second floor that had no elevator. My trick for that was to take the lift to the third floor and then take the stairs down. The room itself was nice. Had vintage, wood furnishings and random art work. I did notice my room had ants so that sucked. I kept everything off the floor so that they wouldn’t get into my stuff. I gave the staff 2 stars because, well, there is no stuff. Everything is, essentially, self serve. I was ok with it but others may not be. The location of the hotel itself is prime. 10/10 on that for me. All the landmarks were super close and very walkable. Overall I’d give the hotel a 6/10. I’d stay there again if I couldn’t find another in that same area.
Loved this hotel! Centrally located and well kept. Not a lot of amenities, but you don’t need many when there’s this much around the area. Very clean and full of history. Will choose this place if in Berlin again!
Quirky, clean and quiet (except for train noise that you get used to - ear plugs and double glazing provided). Great location and a very comfy bed. Bathrooms and showers clean and a lift when the bags get heavy.
The customer service was excellent and the space was very comfortable. Before I got to the hotel I needed to reach out to the staff for help. I called and spoke with Matilda on the phone who recommended I email Mike. Mike was great, he was very responsive and he helped me solve my issue. The check in process was well explained and the front desk staff was also quite helpful. The room they gave me was spacious and the guest atrium had trees, which was beautiful. I even appreciated the art on the walls inside my room. I would highly recommend a visit to any hotel with this staff again.
The hotel was just what I needed for my brief stay I. Berlin. My room was basic but perfectly fine and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated the air con machine!
Bathrooms etc were clean. The location was quiet despite the railway nearby and I had two excellent nights of sleep.
This hotel is in a great location and the lobby and the room were beautiful. I was on the first floor next to the shared bathroom, with windows facing the courtyard. I saw no other guests in the hallway, so I effectively had the bathroom to myself. The service staff was lovely. The only suggestion would be to add a mirror to the room.
I spent 6 nights in mid-July at Arte Luise Kunsthotel, in Berlin. Excellent, helpful staff at the reception desk who all appear to be fluent in English. Very high standard of cleanliness maintained in the bedrooms. Helpful and clear information about baggage storage facilities before check-in or after check-out. A major plus is that guests' choice of type of breakfast can be changed from day to day - so you are not committed to a major buffet breakfast for the duration of your stay, as is the case with most hotels.
Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, etc., all within easy walking distance. Alternatively, to go further afield in Berlin or to go to Potsdam - or eventually, to go to the airport - the Friedrichstrasse Station is also easily accessible.
The sight of an elevated railway line running by one corner of the hotel was initially worrying. However, I was out during the day and if trains were running during the night, I certainly never heard them. Neither trains or other guests disturb my sleep at any time.
I appreciated the effort which had gone into developing the artistic theme for the hotel. I only experienced the van Gogh room but came away with a greater interest in him.
Clientele seemed to be drawn from the full range of ages.
I will be very happy to return to the Arte Luise Kunsthotel when next in Berlin and would have no reservations about recommending it to family and friends.
