Perfect Anniversary Trip
Looking for a romantic weekend getaway in the woods? This is the spot! Janie and Cy surprised us with a generous gift of snacks and a handwritten card upon arrival, as well as a dozen eggs from their own chickens! The cabin was in tip top shape for cleanliness and organization. Everything was well stocked and provided for us. We spent time at the campfire, grilling and swinging on the porch, making cocktails in the kitchen, and spending time with our dog who felt just at home. We’re incredibly thankful for this rejuvenating anniversary trip and hope to spend more here in the future!

This was the cleanest most organized VRBO I have booked. The kitchen literally had every tool you could think about needing and they provided plenty of supplies. Janie was the best about communication and very helpful! We were welcomed with a lovely fruit and snack bowl as well as fresh eggs! Definitely a 20 out of 10! The location is beautiful, the furniture and bedding is very comfortable and they provided plenty of firewood. I definitely would love to return.

Fantastic relaxing weekend!
From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, everything was perfect. Communication was fantastic, everything we could ever need was provided (including some snacks and fresh eggs) and was spotless. Relaxing weekend getaway
We had a fantastic time at the cabin! So beautifully built. They thought of everything. It’s well stocked and comfortably decorated. Two comfy king size beds. Gorgeous bathroom with divine water pressure after a long hike. Remote and relaxing! Our dogs loved the wrap around enclosed porch. Janie was super easy to communicate with and very accommodating. She was so sweet to leave us a care package and wish my husband a happy birthday. Thoughtful touch! We really enjoyed our time here!

Long weekend in Berkeley Springs
We came to this cabin for a long weekend getaway and had a lovely time. The cabin has everything we needed and more, and was very quiet and comfortable. It is within a short drive to Berkeley Springs for grocery, restaurants and the spa but far enough away that we didn’t have any noise from town. We had only one negative which was a sewage odor in the home intermittently through the weekend, which wasn’t enough to disrupt our stay and was reported to the manager. Otherwise gorgeous cabin and location and we look forward to coming back!

The Perfect Long Weekend!
My wife and I wanted to get away for a long weekend to celebrate our Anniversary and this cabin appeared to be a great choice. We had no idea how perfect it would be. The cabin is beautifully decorated and stocked with absolutely everything you need. The manager was very responsive when coordinating our arrival, stay and departure. We love the outdoors and went on several hikes at Cacapon State Park just a couple miles away. While we were there it snowed over night Friday and all day Saturday. We hiked up a fire road at the cabin while it was snowing. The beautiful snow views through the windows, cable TV, internet and a puzzle provided a wonderful relaxing day. The owner plowed the 6”-8” of snow in the morning. We might have stayed a couple more days if it weren’t for that inconvenience called “work”. Thank you Janie and Cy for a perfect weekend! Could not have enjoyed ourselves any better!

2nd time there and would visit again
Janie is a wonderful host! 2nd time staying in this location and no reason to go to the mountains and stay anywhere else. Very clean, with a well stocked kitchen. The layout of the house is very inviting and well designed. The view is very nice and the feeling of seclusion is the best part. The fire pit is well stocked with wood and I use the BBQ grill both times is stayed there. Even lounging on the deck and looking for animals is nice. There is a small creek at the bottom of the slope to explore with no one else around. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful cabin
We had a wonderful stay at Buck Haven. The cabin was super clean, updated, and beautiful. We loved sitting on the quiet back porch, and the kitchen had nice amenities to prepare meals. The host/manager was excellent in regards to communication, attention to detail, and making us feel welcome. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

A piece of heaven
What an absolutely gorgeous and peaceful stay we had. We did not want for anything and anything we would have needed was there in the fully equipped kitchen. I have a lot of trouble finding accessible cabins and this is the first one I have found. It was made even more handicap accessible to meet our specific needs, when the manager found out we needed that. Had nice snacks, fresh veggies from their garden and eggs from their chicken waiting for us when we arrived. 10 out of 10!

Stayed in a few VRBOs over the years and this was best by miles. From initial inquiry, to booking, to the stay, and to check out - everthing was top notch. Janie was very helpful and kind. Stayed in many VRBOs...and this was by far outstanding! Even a thank you note for staying along with snacks! Who does that!? The one drawer in the bathroom had extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, bars of soap.....who does that? And wait there is more - a doz of eggs from a local farmer - who does that!? With today's price of eggs.... Cannot say enough about the well stocked kitchen, fire pit stocked with wood, a great outdoor grill on a beautiful peaceful deck. So clean everywhere! Janie was beyond helpful and so kind. We will be back!!!!

This time we brought our parents!
This was my family’s second stay at beautiful Buck Haven. When we returned from our first time there, my husband told his parents how amazing our experience was. They couldn’t wait to plan a trip there based on our glowing recommendation. Well, as soon as his parents pulled up to the cabin they were blown away. They loved the lay-out of the cabin and how clean and well-stocked it was. It’s very easy to make wonderful memories at Buck Haven. I’m so glad my husband, children and I were able to make more with my in-laws.

Buckhaven is nothing short of fantastic!!! The property is immaculately clean! The kitchen has anything and everything we needed and then some! The views are amazing! Perfect Getaway!
We have stayed at a lot of rental properties and this by far was our favorite! The house was spotless and had everything and more than we needed for an awesome week. From check in to check out the process was seamless. It was our first time to the area and there is plenty of activities. Our favorite was Capacon State Park which is a couple of miles away. But the house was so peaceful and comfortable it was hard to leave. I highly recommend staying here.

Relaxing Weekend
Janie, the Property Manager, is awesome! We have rented many houses in the past 12 years and have never stayed in a house that was so well stocked!! We never cooked, but I would have loved to cook with everything that was available. Even containers for leftovers were available. The deck is wonderful and we spent a lot of time relaxing. The other house was closer than what we thought, but the people staying there were quiet so it did not affect our relaxing time. We will return!!

This an amazing property. The cabin is spacious with an incredible wrap around deck that looks right into the trees. The kitchen is well appointed for those who like to cook. You won't be disappointed
No detail was forgotten by the property manager. Spotless with a fully stocked kitchen. Spices, oils, sandwich bags, plastic cups and plates for the kids. I could go on and on with compliments about this property. I have traveled near and far and have never wrote a review but this one definitely deserved my time and attention to compliment the owner of this property. Beautiful cabin
This cabin has everything...and I mean every single thing. The property is nice and well located to Cacapon State Park. The cabin next door is a bit closer than we prefer, especially when kids are staying there...the noise carries easily. But the back deck is super private and the dog can come along, so we'll stay again.

Perfect and peaceful cabin weekend getaway
Me my wife and our 7 yr old son stayed for a weekend. We stayed at many mountain cabins, and this one went over our expectations. The cleanliness and the details of the cabin were just incredible. We enjoyed the privacy on the back porch and the swing, the creek down the hill and fire pit outside. Everything you need on vacation is provided like games, appliances, fire pit wood toothbrushes, shampoo, and all other essentials. If you want to relax this is the place to be! Thank you Janie you were very accommodating and very easy to contact! We Will be back again.

Amazing cabin - perfect for the small family
Janie, the property manager, was outstanding with her communication. Cy, the owner/builder, has created a perfect small family cabin on the crest of the ridge overlooking a small stream. It feels like a European cabin with beautiful quality woodwork, solid wood doors, amazing hand crafted furniture and a perfectly outfitted kitchen. I want Cy to build my retirement home when I’m ready! The cabin is perfect for a small family, but lives much larger. My handicapped mother was very comfortable and able to get around easily and my preteen daughter took over the loft. We spent a day exploring Berkeley Springs - an easy 15 min drive - and the cabin has a great collection of information on local activities. We look forward to many future visits!!

The Perfect Respite
This was my second stay at Buck Haven and again it was the perfect place for me to unwind and take a breather from my everyday busy life. The cabin is impeccable in its decor, amenities and cleanliness. Janie adds little touches that make me feel welcomed and the cabin is well stocked.
