"Das Haus ist in den 70ern stehen geblieben. Fast alles war alt, die Terrasse teilweise morsch, alles roch altbacken und muffig, die Matratzen waren uralt. Die Küchenausstattung war übersichtlich - es gab zum Beispiel nur 3 Teelöffel. Das ganze Haus bedarf einer Grundsanierung innen wie außen. Das es anders geht zeigen andere Häuser im Ferienprk Vorauf. Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge im Chiemgau ist die Lage sehr gut. Check-in, Sauberkeit und Kommunikation waren in Ordnung."

Es ist wirklich an alles gedacht, von Kinderstuhl, Spielen und Büchern bis zum sprechenden Eierkocher. Auch der Außenbereich ist sehr schön angelegt. "Der Aufenthalt im Ferienhaus war rundum gelungen. Die Zimmer waren sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt. Es hat wirklich an nichts gefehlt – die Ausstattung war vollständig und durchdacht. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Gastgeberin: äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam und immer bemüht, den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Selbst an unsere Hunde wurde gedacht – mit Leckerlies und gemütlichen Hundekörben. Absolut empfehlenswert, wir kommen gerne wieder."

"This was the nicest Gasthof I stayed in on this trip. The room felt new and spacious. The bathroom was very sleek. No A/C (expected), but the window had a bug screen and they gave me a fan when I asked. The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked for laundry services and it was very mindfully done and a good value. Would definitely come back if I return to Berchtesgaden!"

"This is an excellent hotel for its price point! I felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid. The rooms are clean though no frills. The staff is helpful and attentive. The spa was clean and nice, although it is only open for four hours in the evenings. If you are used to some of the more premium hotel/spas in the Berchtesgaden area, you won’t be impressed. That said, the fact that the Explorer had one, didn’t charge extra for it, and kept it very clean is a huge plus for me. The breakfast was fantastic, although go early if you want to partake in the DIY egg stations. I went in the summer, and you absolutely can’t beat where the location. A quick 10 minute walk to either the Konigssee or Jennerbahn. I literally was busy from the moment I got there on Friday afternoon to the moment I left on Monday morning. I highly recommend the Explorer for those looking for the Berchtesgaden experience without breaking the bank."

"Lovely, clean, quiet hotel. We stayed there prior to a visit to Eagles Nest, which was a short drive from there. There is a nice bar next door, which was convenient for food. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and were initially worried that it would be noisy in the morning as it was right next to the entrance to the kitchen. We didn't need to be as we didn't hear a thing, despite the breakfast room being quite busy when we went in. There was a good choice for breakfast. No air conditioning so the room was a bit warm."
