Hidden away on the northwest coast of the island, Benirras Beach is one of Ibiza’s most treasured destinations. Among the many tourists that visit this popular vacation spot are families and honeymooners. See groups gathering on the beach for dancing and music sessions. This sheltered bay is also a popular anchoring spot for private yachts and motorboats, which makes for a beautiful view of the horizon at sunset.
From the resort town of San Miguel, the beach is only a 10-minute drive away. This part of the island has a stunning landscape. Take a scenic journey along a winding road until you reach Benirras, a beautiful cove with a backdrop of pine forest-covered cliffs and soft, white sand.
Rocks border both ends of Benirras Beach and the water is crystal clear. Watch as the kids climb over the boulders to discover rock pools. Snorkel around in the pebbly seabed. However, take caution not to stumble when exploring at either end of the beach.
There are a wide variety of amenities at Benirras Beach. Spend a lazy summer day under a rented parasol and lounge chair, or set out on the calm waters on a paddleboat or canoe. On a Sunday, get lost in the rhythms as musicians gather for a jam session on the beach. A bar opens for business when the beach gets particularly busy. There are also a number of restaurants open for lunch and dinner, all of which serve a scrumptious choice of international or local cuisine.
The busiest time of year at Benirras is during the summer season. The winter season tends to be quieter and its restaurants usually close down, however, a walk along the beach is enjoyable throughout the whole year. It gets busy so if you wish to attend the Sunday drumming session it is best to arrive at the beach early to secure a parking space.
