property area was beautiful cottage could use some updates 2 burners of stove didn't work toaster didn't work microwave didn't work mice has chewed cables area and view was awesome
Wonderful location for a cottage with perfect access to the outdoors. Great that kayaks were available from the rental business. Rustic building, no door on the freezer, but once we knew what was what, which was unfortunately on the second day of our stay, it was perfect. Unfortunately I didn't get a response about the Sandbanks pass number when I requested it a week before our stay so there were no reservations available at Outlet Beach.
You couldn’t ask for a better location
Great area nested I front of the lake
Other than that is just down hill
Water supply is directly from the lake without any filtration, so plan on showering, brushing your teeth and washing dishes is weed infested bird and fish and who know what else poop waters
The place has never been cleaned, the sofa covers are coved in spider webs and smell like crap
Nobody cleans prior to leaving or coming
The deck is dirty and mouldy
Beautiful location, but there rest is below average
Location: Fantastic view and easy access. Gorgeous sunset.
Cottage: Vintage cabin feel, but dirty, full of spider webs that were not cleaned from previous client. I spent 30 minutes removing over 20 spider webs from the bedroom to the bathroom and kitchen. Listing says 3 bedrooms, but only has 2. Bathroom does not have privacy: it has no proper door and the wall is open to a bedroom. So outsiders can hear and see you. The entire cottage felt dirty, and we had to make our own bed.
Host: He's responsive, but not accommodating to a slightly later checkout. His checkout time was 10am, and when I mentioned that standard checkouts are usually 11am or 12pm, he mentioned that it was mentioned in the listing. That was a lie, as it was only shared after a non-refundable payment. His property rules charge you a penalty if you move furniture, don't take out the trash or even leave 5 mins late. Needless to say, those strict rules and lack of customer service were disappointing.
Really enjoyed our stay.
It was peaceful and a great spot to relax on the water.
Made use of the park pass.
Hosts replied almost instantly to any queries we had
This is our second year booking and we were happy with our stay. My kids enjoyed being right on the lake and fishing from the deck. Great location, 5 minutes from Sand Banks provincial park and about 20 minutes from Picton. Highly recommend booking the pontoon at West Lake Watersports if you’re looking for more water activities.
The place is really rustic, right on the lake so loads of fun. The only thing to bear in mind there is one washroom and its open so the noise was the only thing to factor. But that being said we will come back. Dina and Warren were wonderful hosts
I was hesitant to book this cottage because of the negative reviews, but they are unjustified. The cottage is cozy and cute - seating area by window is fantastic and beds are comfy. Fixtures and appliances are dated, but all worked well. Kitchen was extremely well stocked. Owners were responsive to all requests. And the location couldn't be better. Enjoyed morning tea watching the swans on the lake!
Exactly what we wre looking for. Advertizes 3 bedrooms and there are only 2 sofa doesnt even turn into a bed. Bit of a dissappointment but did not affect our sta
The location is amazing. It is, as many have said before, a dated cottage, but with the back porch and great weather you don't spend any time inside anyway. I would suggest getting a new cleaner! Although we may have been among the first guests, cleanliness was an issue. Other than that, great!

Rustic cottage
Great location, beautiful view. However it is an old cottage, with not a lot of privacy as bedroom and bathroom doors don't close properly. The cottage is older with not great screens on the windows. So expect insects. Issues with cleanliness, regarding floors and dishes. Wifi was excellent and fans worked great.

The basic cleanliness of the beds were fine but the rest of the cottage wasn't clean and run down. The BBQ grill was dirty and the scrapper was dead. Water pressure and hot water was spotty. I was not expecting a 4 star hotel. I knew it was a rustic cottage but even at that it was underwhelming.

I went in the fall, colours are beautifully, the location of the cabin was great, we stayed in the first cabin and the side yard was huge, which we loved. The fire pit was set up nice and the chairs were great condition.
The cabin was a rustic cottage. I didn't mind it but my friends had mixed opinions. There was a lot of pluses to being on the water, nice beach, location, side yard fire pit, cabin was clean, bed sheets were good. The cabin was old and tired. So it was like a true cabin. If you are looking for upscale then this might not be the place. But if you can look past the maintenance then this is the perfect place.
For city people who do not know what i mean:
Turned on the oven and we could smell mouse pee. Very destictive smell if you grew up in cottage County. But the smell did go away and there was no signs of mice so all is good. This is a two bedroom cabin with the third bed being in the livingroom (not) so comfortable. It was really windy one night the window rattled all night. The shower you could see outside (hole), electrical nightmare for plugging in a device. Again it is a cottage not a hotel so just have the right expectation going in and you will love it.
The place has issues with safety. The handle rail into the cottage wobbles, the toilet is not secured to the floor and the fridge has no freezer door so you can't keep anything frozen. The owner told us that was fine and would not fix it.The back deck step has no handle rails, the wood step is rotten and is on cinder blocks which comes completely off.The deck is uneven and a tripping hazard, the couch does not lay flat and is prompt up on wood as a leg is missing from the couch. The BBQ is disgusting it has never been clean and it has two inches of animal fat buildup and it is only a table top size as well. So it would be difficult to cook for six. There are no fly screens on some windows, which you need as there is no A/C which makes it really hot for cooking. The stove is right next to the entrance so if your cooking beware of handles turned out as people enter/exit the front door. The water pressure is very poor and will continually decrease until there is no water, so we had to fill containers from the lake to flush the toilet. The roof is falling apart with rotten shingles and nails on the ground. One of our boys stepped on a nail and it went through his shoe. This place is not made for six people, as the ad says sleep six, impossible, the fridge is a mini fridge, so it doesn't hold enough food for six, and like a I said tiny tabletop BBQ, how do you feed six people at the same time.Would not recommend!!! We have documented everything and will be pursuing this further.
Easy check in, beautiful views, quiet in the off season, dirty floors.
More appropriate for the weekend warrior than a young family.
Had everything we needed, but we were quite concerned to find glass on the floor and in the floor mats, that apparently the ‘cleaner’ had not cleaned up before we arrived.
