The hotel is in a houtong neighbourhood with lots going on, and is a great base from which to visit the rest of Beijing with a subway less than 10mins away. The staff were incredibly welcoming, personable and friendly throughout the stay and always on hand if you need them. The room was spacious, comfortable, had a good shower and the ability to sit on your own terrace overlooking the quiet courtyard each morning was excellent. Breakfast was available each morning, with a broad selection for all tastes - the soups were delicious. The place was kept incredibly clean with daily housekeeping and the staff took real care to protect the historic building, I’d also highly recommend the airport transfer which was seamless for a first time Beijing visitor. I’d highly recommend this hotel for a more traditional Beijing accommodation with a lot of heart.

The hotel is perfect ! Very well located. Traditional but also modern. The staff is the most helpful staff that we met in China. Prime location just off the main pedestrian 南锣鼓巷, make sure you book the room with balcony - def worth the extra money and experience the true hutong experience. While the room size is slightly on the small side, the staff is most helpful you’d encounter - nothing is too much to ask. They make you an extremely pleasant stay.

Prime location just off main pedestrian street 南锣鼓巷 in the middle of all the action while quiet inside the hotel. While room is on the slightly small side, the staff is the highlight and extremely helpful. Make sure to book the room with balcony and definitely worth the extra. Our stay here was wonderful! We had the privilege to visit Beijing in June of 2026 and stay at this boutique hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance (less than 1/2 a mile) from a metro entrance and centrally located on a market street. The staff was very kind and extremely attentive to our needs. We utilized their free laundry service as well as free breakfast, tea time, and cold beverages. Each day, the staff greeted us, and asked if we needed food, drinks, etc. The room we selected had a cozy, private balcony as well as high powered AC which was much appreciated in the middle of summer and a king sized bed. The room was clean and tidy and the facility was well kept. Upon our departure, the staff helped us call a Didi and walked us to the pick up location. Then, presented us with a parting gift, a tea set.
