Truly is peace on the mountain

Home away from home on top of a Mountain!
Three couples looking for a chance have a reunion and a to catch up in person. Cozy loving room, plenty of space in kitchen. We enjoyed the spectacular views, a walk down the road to the pond (and up again!) and some local sightseeing. Carl was very easy to touch base with and it was obvious he and his family have a beloved home here at Peace on the Mountains! Thank you for sharing it and providing all the basic necessities - we just provided the food and the company.

Bedford, PA stay
We've been looking for a place to stay in Everett or Bedford where we could bring our wives and fly fish for several days, and it appears we have found it. Several friends joined us and the house accommodated everyone quite comfortably. The property is lovely and feels remote, but we had ready access to everything we needed during the week. We are looking forward to coming for another stay down the road. Many thanks for allowing us to enjoy such a beautiful vacation home!

Six college girlfriends stayed here for long weekend - Bedford Fall Foliage
Plenty of room for group or private interactions; kitchen well stocked, very clean. Decorations are amazing and tells great stories about the owners. Very good directions from the property manager, we came from Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, North New Jersey, Philly and Washington DC, no one got lost, Rural as all get out, 4 wheel or all wheel drive necessary to climb the driveway, but so worth it.

Amazing property
At first I apologize for leaving a review so many days after our stay. This was our second stay here and again we enjoyed it from first to the last minute. We absolutely love the house and surrounding area. The amount of a fresh air is overwhelming and each night we slept with the doors open. My wife was waking up early in the morning (I like to stay in the bed little longer :) ) to sit on the deck and watch the deer family coming close to the house every day. We also saw some big butterflies (or moth) and even a little mantis, not to mention the numerous birds. The house has everything you need to seat back, relax and enjoy your stay. The Weis market in nearby Everett is great to resupply, there is also a Walmart store there. We can recommend Jean Bonnet tavern (delicious food) and a Lincoln Highway Creamery (maybe it doesn't look very impressive but the amount of flavors and size of the scoop are more than big, the prices are also affordable). We can recommend visiting Fort Bedford and a Bella Terra Vineyards store located at Bedford. You can taste a wine here and make a purchase right after. Our kids say that this is the best "wooden house" they ever went to and already asking us if we can go there again next year, which we are very seriously considering. As for the navigation we recommend Waze. It guided us almost to the very end of a driveway.

We loved our stay at the cabin! It was very clean and the whole property was lovely! We had some relatives from town over one evening and we all enjoyed our time on the decks. Very quiet and peaceful and lives up to it’s name “peace on the mountain”

Several friends and I stayed at this gorgeous property. The solitude provided was unrivaled, and we spent our time unhurried and refreshed. The forethought into the property truly is an inspiration. I would highly recommend for any seeking green space and time to yourself.

Outstanding place!
Property is as it is advertised and even more. The cabin, the view, the air... We fell in love as soon as we get out from the car. The house is very spacious, and everything you need to rest and spend a good time you can find inside, starting with utensils and ending with a piano in the basement. The place is secluded, so - apart from visiting the store - we didn't see a soul. Directions given to us by Carl was accurate and we had no problems to navigate through the last off-road part of the driveway. Getting to the point - this property is a wonderful place to spend vacation and we will be more than thrilled to have a chance to come back.

Great stay
Our large group (6 adults and 9 kids) had a great stay at this property. The communication with the owner leading up to our visit was timely and professional. Carl provided answers to our questions, detailed information about the area, and clarification about previous reviews to put us at ease. This is a clean and spacious home, with plenty of room for our crew. The driveway is long, but very well kept and easy to navigate. The peace once you get to the top is well worth it. We loved the picture window view, the toys and games for the kids, and plenty of kitchen supplies for the cooks in the group. I would highly recommend this location for any size group.

Disappointing Weekend
We rented this home for a long weekend family trip. Our 2nd evening there the septic backed up during the first use of the shower and was backing up in the sinks and toilets. The property manager, Carl, sent an emergency plumber out. The next day the property manager sent out a cleaning person and also a maintenance person. The property manager said they had problems with the septic and had work done on it. I feel that they should have checked into the problem themselves to make sure it was resolved. I was also told by the property manager that he alerted the Rental Management Team and that they assigned a resolution team, which I never heard from. I feel that we should’ve been offered a partial refund but none was offered and I’m sure I’ll never hear from the “resolution team.” Disappointing! The home could have been cleaned more thoroughly. There were crumbs on the counters and visible dirt on the floors and rugs. With these problems fixed this would be a good rental. It is a nice home in a beautiful location.

Stunning views, welcoming homeowners
We were looking for a place that could be a home away from home for our extended family, and that’s exactly what we found. From the owners friendly communications before we arrived, to the warm, comfortable home, to the stunning views of what was seemingly our own mountain, the week couldn’t have been more beautiful. In this age of social distancing, I think we found the perfect spot.

Great getaway!
Great place! Beautiful views out the windows. The home was very spacious. The dining room was beautiful and a great size for family dining. Would like doors on more of the bedrooms, felt uneasy having toddlers sleep in the loft area. The bathroom arrangement was somewhat awkward... with one of them being in a closet. Overall we had a fantastic stay!

Wouldn’t recommend this house
We were all excited when we first pulled up and saw where it was located... Beautiful view of mountains. But as soon as we opened the front door and entered, we were hit with a very pungent, awful smell. We all immediately noticed it and were affected by it. We did a tour of the house to see where everyone would sleep and it was difficult because beds were in all different places. By the pictures online we figured the kids(teens) could all hang out in the basement and even sleep down there. Unfortunately, the odor was so awful down there, (the strongest) nobody wanted to spend any time at all in the basement. Because of that, we had to squeeze everyone upstairs and on floors, etc. (there were 14 of us) We had to use the pull out couches but we couldn’t find any linens for them. My husband called the maintenance guy, Bruce, and he came out and tried to air out the basement. At first it helped but the odor quickly came back. He was very nice and helpful but the odor was so strong, any amount of airing it out, air fresheners, or scented candles didn’t help at all. We were so disappointed because the odor was so bothersome. The house itself would be fine (if the odor was taken care of) for a smaller group. The setting was beautiful and the kids and Dads loved the little pond on the property. I’m sorry to say we won’t be back. The owner was so kind and easy to deal with. Bruce was so nice too. I hope they figured out that smell because I couldn’t imagine staying there for more than a couple days. Our things still smelled of it when we got home.

Beautiful Log Home
We had a great time. The Log Home was large and had everything required. The view was great and the location was very private. We all loved having the deer come into the yard every evening to feed. All in all, if you like privacy and a beautiful log home, this place will not disappoint.

I can’t say enough good things about this rental! The house is HUGE and accommodates a ton of people. The main floor has a large formal dining table as well as a kitchen with an dine-up island. There are multiple TVs throughout the house as well as a large back bedroom that can serve as a family room. The loft is nicely divided with beds/privacy. The downstairs has a great game room with dueling pianos and a bar to sit at. Most impressive is the massive wrap-around deck that is perfect for corn hole. The yard is giant and kids can run all around safely. The older kids can fish and swim at the pond which is within shouting distance to the house. The house is atop a hill, secluded, and the heavy glass doors/windows muffles any outside sound from the deck including music (so the kids can sleep while the adults hang outside). It is well-stocked, cozy, and has fun decor. Our most favorite thing was the second bathroom on the main floor. We don’t want to ruin the surprise of its appeal :). Overall, awesome value, great for large family groups and friends, peaceful and private. We’ll be regulars!

We enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing and the cabin was equipped with whatever you might need. Thanks for firing up the space heaters it was cold weather!
