"The room was small and overpriced. The communal rooms were small and uninviting. And the breakfast was terrible. But the location was very good."

Howard Johnson by Wyndham Beaufort/Parris Island
4/10 Poor
"Didn’t see a single hotel employee our entire stay. Had to check in using a virtual kiosk. Continental breakfast was limited and pancake maker was out of order. The building entrances were not secure. The hallway smelled bad. The room had stains on the floor, the lampshade, the sheets and bedspread. "

Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Beaufort at Highway 21 by IHG
6/10 Okay
"The breakfast was pretty good. The man running the breakfast area was on point and pleasant. Couple of issues I had; our room was not exactly clean. There were smudges, dirt and old toothpicks in corners, the bedding had torn corners and worn, the beds were far too tall and I don’t understand how any elderly person would’ve been able to stay there, the bed frames under the bed were collapsing slightly, pull out bed mattress NEEDS to be replaced, a little bit of black mold on the window frames (although the view from my 4th floor was absolutely beautiful looking over the marsh). The evening desk staff could actually smile when they interact with you. It wasn’t warm like one might expect from the front desk staff. And the exterior lighting, including the sign, looked like you were coming up on an old Haunted House (change the Green and fix the broken bulbs on the sign). Experience wasn’t terrible, just about 25-35 yards short of a touchdown. "

City Loft Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and I loved the location of this hotel. It is just a few steps from excellent restaurants, shops, and coffee shops. To call it a hotel seems wrong because while it appears to be a remodeled hotel with outside doors opening to the parking lot, it is precious and it is very well done with special touches that create a true boutique stay. There is plenty of outdoor seating, the rooms are just the right size for 2 adults, everything was clean, and the staff are so helpful and kind. It is right on Carteret Street, so the traffic going to and from the bridge can be bothersome. However, we did not mind it at all and barely noticed it. We will definitely be back! "
