"It is important to check in at reception up the stairs near the restaurant...[the details for check-in should include this.] before you get to the hotel otherwise you will be doing some walking. Some of the rooms are beautifully placed along some of the cobblestone walks, be sure to know where you are going because the walk with luggage can be a little tiring especially after walking from the shuttles. The accessible scenery, abbey and shops, and area around the room, sunsets and sunrises, make it all worth it. "

"Good location, the viewing path of Mont st Michel with the winding river is just opposite, sheeps wondering around the path, nice place to have some interesting pictures. Free parking lot, optional buffet breakfast, spacious room, great choice for overnight stay when you arrive in the evening, walk on the path on the same day, next day can check out and drive to the public parking of Mont st Michel and start the climb."

"There was plenty of parking on arrival and instructions received before arrival were very clear. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was lovely with a little balcony, kitchen, sitting area and bathroom. It was very well lit, plenty of windows and well heated. Do be aware there was no hand soap provided. It was within walking distance of Mont-Saint-Michel and local amenities. Looking forward to staying here again."

"Excellent hotel! I would definitely recommend. Positives: (1) Check-in desk staff was friendly and helpful. (2) Location is great! Just outside Le Mont St Michel and with nice restaurants close by. (3) Hotel was well kept. (4) Great breakfast with a nice selection of food. (5) They sell 2L water bottles for 2 euros which is super handy. Negatives: (1) Small room. Not much space to move around. "

"Le Relais Du Roy is a very nice place to stay when visiting Mont St Michel. Although it is very basic, akin to an older Motel 6 in the US, we found the room to be clean, the receptionists exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast buffet bountiful and delicious. The location can't be beat, as it's only a 30 minute walk to Mont St Michel, or under 10 minutes by free shuttle, which were running until 11 pm in May. There are 3 restaurants in La Caserne for dinner, all within walking distance of the hotel, so it's imperative to make a reservation if you don't want to dine on Mont St Michel. (We chose to dine at Le Pre Sale and the food was delicious.) I would highly recommend staying at Le Relais du Roy when visiting Mont St Michel."
