"Location is lovely quiet and picturesque. We were at a wedding close by so only needed the hotel to sleep at, the hotel is a bit in need of a re-furb but very nice staff and the room was fresh and comfortable. The room was clean, bedding and bed were comfortable we did not eat as arrived at 3 dropped bags and headed to wedding.left at 8 in morning Would stay again as we both said apart from corridors and general impression it was a nice nights sleep Plenty parking and nice area for a morning walk"

"We stayed in a family room which was very spacious and comfortable with a separate sitting area. Really quiet and great location in the city. Did not eat or drink in hotel but the bar and restaurant looked very welcoming. Overall a great place to stay."

"Some of the furniture in the room required repair, lighting was dim as no main light. Some light fittings were loose. The windows did not secure and we were on the lower ground floor, Aircon was pointed at the pillows on the bed which has your face and neck cold."

"We stayed one night on way north. Nice room. Nice evening meal. Paid £10 to park overnight at hotel. Did not want to pay £32 for breakfast for two (went to The Station). Very central. Would recommend."

"Stayed here for overnight for our fifth anniversary. The hotel is in lovely surroundings and looks amazing. The staff are all friendly and helpful. However, after staying it’s clear this venue is certainly more geared towards being a wedding venue, rather than a hotel. We were very kindly given a bottle of Prosecco for the occasion, which was very lovely. However, the room we were given was tiny, with a gap of around 8 inches between the bed and the wall, and was located directly above both reception and the bar toilets, so we could hear other guests checking in word-for-word, as well as taps and hand dryers every few minutes. I raised this with staff who again very kindly offered an alternative room which was much bigger and more appropriate - however still slightly noisy with doors throughout the venue being heard shutting. However, we were very lucky that this other room was the last available, otherwise we’d have been stuck with the other. The receptionist explained this happens often with non-wedding guests, which we totally understood but there is no indication when booking that the venue is meant to be a ‘drop the bags, attend the wedding, sleep, and go’. Again, the setting, staff and restaurant were all great. But we were slightly disappointed that the initial room was so inadequate and that this is seen as standard just because they primarily cater to weddings. Would recommend to anyone for a wedding, but any other stay I’d be less inclined."
