This is such a quaint inn, with clean large rooms, free breakfast and a great common area. The inn keeper was so welcoming and attentive, yet chill, so we felt really comfortable there.
This was our first time staying at a bed & breakfast and honestly, we absolutely loved our stay! The place was very convenient in terms of the location as there were many places walking distance for food options. We were also greeted by Cheryl upon checking in and she gave us a quick tour of the place to get familiarized. She was very welcoming and a great host. I think if it weren’t for her, it wouldn’t have been as cozy and charming. The room we stayed was very cozy and spacious enough for us. It even had its own chimney/fireplace for which we were able to use the first night and light up a log that they had placed for us. The beds were pretty comfortable and it felt as if we were staying at a family’s home of how cozy it was. My favorite part of the stay was waking up each day around 8 am to the smell of breakfast. It smelled so good all the way up to the room and it was just delightful being able to wake up to fresh, home made breakfast. They served two options of breakfast each day from 8-9:30am. The food was delicious and honestly made our stay much better. Their coffee was amazing as well. We really could’ve sat enough about this place and would return in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much! It was a pleasure having you with us!
Cheryl was a wonderful host, great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. In off season outside of Bar Harbor many places are closed. Elmhurst is easy walk to great restaurants, favorites were Brassiere Le Brun and Havana. Also the Abbe Museum (10 min walk from Elmhurst) is a world class museum which explores the history and culture of the Wabanaki, Maine's native people.
Charming, comfortable, quiet B&B in Bar Harbor. Great location - about a 5-10 min walk from Main St and close to the sand bar. Grocery store half a block away for snacks and drinks. Cheryl is an amazing host with excellent suggestions accommodating our every request and providing excellent restaurant suggestions. The room was spacious and the sheets were the most comfortable we have ever slept in! Amazing shower with great water pressure. Even the towels were nice - no thin white hotel towels in sight. The hot 3 course breakfast every morning was very good and a great way to start our day.

Thank you so much! It was a pleasure having you with us.
The Staff was very knowledgeable about places to go, places to eat and things to do. They were very friendly but not over the top. The breakfasts were great with two choices that were able to satisfy both my wife and me. The room was perfect and had a little sitting room that was perfect for reading and talking.
We enjoyed at wonderful stay at the Elmhurst. Carol was extremely helpful and made sure that all our needs were met. I highly recommend a stay at the Inn.
Excellent, charming, easy place to stay. The host was welcoming and shared many local recs. Walkable to all in Bar Harbor, we did Acadia without a car and able to do it from this location. Very cute and would stay again. Excellent breakfast too! Made special changes for gluten free breakfast too.
Whole experience was excellent! "Aunt" Cheryl, as the Inn keeper likes to be called, couldn't have done enough for you. The day we left, she packed an egg sandwich, bananas and coffee cake for our ride home. The breakfasts were delicious! If I had to complain about anything, it would be the A/C was noisy. We would return in a heartbeat.
A lovely BNB! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great location near downtown with easy parking. Our room was a bit small but we didn't spend much time in it, so it was not an issue.
Incredibly kind staff; gorgeous space - beautiful patio and the rooms were cozy and well set up (amenities were well provided!) delicious daily breakfast and convient location to Bar Harbor shops
Very welcoming reception. Beautiful comfortable room in a historic house. Great breakfast to start the day. Great tips on local restaurants and events from manager. A very enjoyable stay. The property has everything except an elevator.
Staff was above and beyond. The caretaker of the Elmhurst was very welcoming, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Breakfast was exquisite and so were the rooms.

Thank you! It was a pleasure having you with us. Hope to see you in the summertime in the future!
Breakfast was excellent and home made everyday. An Inn running for locals, , service very helpful and the owner lives there in case you need her.
The rooms, are a little smaller than you see in their website on line, but good size anyways.
Location is prefect, walking distance from restaurants, bars and shops.
Location is within a short walk to all the restaurants and shops in downtown Bar Harbor. The location is also close to the sandbar that one can walk between the 2 islands at low tide. The breakfasts are phenomenal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and quiet.
Excellent location walking to Bar Harbor. Clean room comfy king size bed. Breakfast on porch.

The Elmhurst Inn has so many great attributes....friendly and efficient staff.....location just a couple blocks from downtown Bar Harbor....on site parking.... and 5 star breakfasts.....only setback is that the 1800's historic victorian has not been recently refreshed. Our apartment was on the third floor.....if you are not up to trudging up three flights of stairs with your luggage make sure you request a room on the second floor.

Thank you for the wonderful comments! I'm sorry the third floor was too far up for your luggage. We do our best to advertise and notify guest of their room location. Should you visit us again, please do request a second floor room or call direct for assistance.
This was a wonderful place to stay in Bar Harbor. so conveniently located to everything. I walked to shopping, dinner and all the fun and amazing things to do in town. Never had to worry about parking. its also located within a 10 minute drive to the Cadillac Mountain entrance to Acadia. The innkeeper was lovely and eager to make my stay comfortable and relaxing. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. i would definitely stay here again.
