"The check in/out desk was manic. the lines were 5 people deep for all three staff. The room itself was noticeably smaller than it appeared on the website. We booked two family rooms side by side for our group of five. The air-conditioning in one room struggled the entire stay, although the other room was fine. The TVs were very small with no decent channels, and none of them were smart TVs — which really should be standard these days. We stayed during Nyepi Day, and the food/menu was honestly terrible. We paid an exorbitant amount for food that was virtually inedible and ended up spending nearly $100 on instant noodles from the mini-mart inside the hotel just so we had something we could eat. For a hotel marketed with a Western theme, the least they could do is offer food that guests can actually enjoy. The spa was the most expensive spa I have gone to in Bali and the massage left me with more pain than relief. Overall, nice and clean but totally not worth the cost."

"Tanah Gajah was by far the most relaxing vacation my wife and I have ever had. From our villa with infiti pool looking on to the rice paddies to the private walled accomodation, the extensive beautifully designed gardens, wonderful food by chef Dean, everything superb! Staff couldn’t do enough and everyone, from ground staff to housekeeping to management should be proud of your customer services, a truly fantastic experience, my wife and I can’t wait to come back."

"The stay at Maya was nice and the area was beautiful. The Villas are very peaceful as well as the whole property. There is a nice calm feeling at this resort as it feels secluded even though it is very close to the downtown Ubud area. The live performances at dinner were a fun addition; if that be the traditional dancing at the main restaurant or the band doing cover songs at the bar. We are giving Maya 4 stars rather than 5 because a lot of the amenities stopped between 5 and 7 which created multiple inconvenient experiences on trip. For example, the tram is a great amenity that takes guests to downtown Ubud but it only runs from 9am to 5pm. This is such an early time to be shutting down this amenity. In addition the pools and spa close at 7pm which seems very early. Regardless of the amenities, this was a very nice resort to have some calm and just be."

"I stayed at Hard rock with my family of 5. We had an absolutely amazing stay. From the time you get out of the car to enter to the time you leave, the staff make the stay fantastic! They are the most friendliest, warm and polite group of staff I have ever come across and it was completely consistent. They were ready to help any way possible and always had a smile on their face. The facilities at the hotel are superb and the pool is the absolute highlight! It is huge, the temperature is perfect, there are so many different sections and the cabanas are brilliant. The breakfast is varied and the halal options are amazing. The room size is perfect and very clean. The rooms have everything you will need and the entertainment around the hotel is exceptional. They have a great selection of activities, events and entertainment which is detailed on the TV for when you arrive. The special touch of the staff addressing you personally when you call reception makes you feel like they care so well done for that. My family and I loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The location is fantastic! Next time I am looking for a hotel in any part of the world, the Hard Rock will be my fist choice. Its super family friendly. Thank you to the Hard Rock Bali family"
