Lovely Village
Had a great stay at the cottage in a beautiful village and being very close to all amenities such as shop, pub etc was ideal. Also a good base to explore further afield.
The reason for the lower scores was because there was no hot water for the duration of the stay and i feel after contacting the host that this may have been a known problem. Obviously this was far from ideal and did affect our stay here.
Additionally as a customer service point, it stated that a starter amount of fuel would be left for the fire, there wasn't, it was just a few bits of kindling and a bit of coal but no firelighters or logs. Also a bit of milk left would have been appreciated so we could make a tea on arrival without the need to go the shop, not big things but its the general customer service care you would generally come to expect when renting out a short term holiday property.

Lovely Cottage
We stayed at Orchard Cottage to visit Diddly Squat Farm, it is literally 10 minutes up the road, the cottage is lovely and the enclosed garden and french doors are perfect for visiting with a dog!!
The village is delightful and the houses look straight out of Jane Austen, the village shop is very friendly and well stocked
we used Cotswold Takeaway on Just Eat and found that convenient and delicious so even if you don't want to go out cooking is not essential

A cozy, tastefully furnished very lovely little cottage
A cozy, tastefully furnished very lovely little cottage. The lovely front garden with its many different seating areas keeps the front door out of sight and makes it very quiet; I felt very comfortable. Nothing was missing. There are several footpaths for walking with or without the dog. Restaurants are very close. For me, Hook Norton is a very good location to make trips with the car in different directions and relatively close to the sights of Southwest England.

Last minute break
Cosy cottage in the middle of Hook. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Lovely enclosed garden which was a sun trap even in March!
Comfy beds. Plenty of hot water.
On street parking around the corner.
Even got to see the Dray horse on the Saturday going through the village after it's delivery.

Lovey stay at Orchard Cottage in Hook Norton
We (two friends and a dog) had a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage in Hook Norton.
The cottage was comfortable, cosy, clean en had everything we needed! The beds were fine and we (and our dog!) were perfectly happy here during our stay.
The garden is very nice and the cottage is perfectly situated in the Cotswolds. Hook Norton is a very goodlooking town with friendly people, a nice shop nearby and we spent some time in the Sun Inn which has a very friendly staff and good food!
From the cottage you can make nice walks and all the towns and places we wanted to visit were close by.
We would love to come again!

A really lovely stay!
Such a nice place to spend the weekend - perfect location with plenty of pubs within walking distance as well as a budgens across the road. Lots of nice country walks. Accommodation was super cosy, had everything you could possibly need. Dog friendly was a bonus too! Would be good if the sofa was a tiny bit comfier for those nights in front of the fire with one of the many DVDs they leave you! But apart from that, it was perfect.

A lovely cottage in a pretty village in a good location for touring the area. The village shop opposite is a great asset and very well stocked and being able to park in the street outside was great. The Pear tree inn is a proper local whereas we felt the Sun wasn't very welcoming although the food was OK.

Orchard Cottage
Orchard Cottage was a perfect bolt hole for a long weekend. It is a lovely village and has all the amenities you require in walking distance, butchers, village shop and of course two pubs!
The cottage was really well equipped and perfectly sized for us and the dog, in my view I think it would be a bit 'too cosy' with 4 adults. There is a pretty courtyard garden out the front, which wasn't right for February but I am sure would be lovely on a summers day. I also have to mention I was thrilled that the towels were bath sized, so big enough to wrap up in!
Location was great for long walks out of the village which was just what we wanted for our stay. Everyone was very friendly and we would recommend breakfast at Hook Norton Brewery.

A wonderful break in a baeutiful setting
Orchard Cottage is extremely well equipped, clean and quaint. The courtyard garden is a lovely suntrap and also well equipped, the solar lights are a thoughtful touch! There are also some very handy books on walks and places to visit in the area as well as a few games for those possibly rainy, windy evenings. The double bed was really comfy but, apparently, the single bed on the left hand side of the twin bedroom had an uncomfortable mattress, that is the only critical thing we could say about our stay. I would like to thank the owner and all staff involved in our beautiful country getaway, you all do a marvellous job in making a really homely experience. I have already recommended Orchard Cottage to another family member who may be visiting with friends in the near future.

Exceeded Expectations
We stayed at Orchard Cottage in May of 2025. We had no knowledge of Hook Norton but fell in love with the quaint village which was thankfully not a tourist hub like many of the other small local villages.
The cottage itself was about as idyllic as one could imagine with a small fireplace (which we didn't use), exposed wood beams, a steep little staircase to the two bedrooms which was perfect for our family of 4 with its second bedroom having two twin beds.
We made use of the kitchen after picking up some food from the village shop across the street. I couldn't find a baking sheet which would have been nice, but the kitchen had everything else we needed, including a workaround for that problem. The hot water was loud when you turned it on, but aside from the laugh from scaring one of our kids the first time we did so, it was just something you got used to.
There was a washing machine on site, the little courtyard was adorable, the place felt like home while we were there, far from our own home in Canada. We would absolutely stay there again.
