Hostess Pip went above and beyond with our stay and was very accommodating regarding our late check in. Rooms were very clean and included breakfast. Would stay again!

The hair of the dog is a must visit place. It is a unique little country inn with extremely friendly people. Do yourself a favour and take a trip n visit The Hair of The Dog Inn at Ballimore

The room was very basic and toilets shared by pub patrons however that is reflected in the very reasonable price. The food was great and staff very friendly

A Little Gem!!

Was the perfect stay for the activity I was participating in. Thought it was a little expensive for what it was, but I enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful little pub, very clean room, Beautiful staff, The food was absolutely amazing. Great area out the back to sit and enjoy a cold beer. Highly recommend.

I Obicer Aussie pub with great character, great food and clean and tidy rooms. Early access to the breakfast room worked really well for us with early starts. Will stay again…..

This is a very affordable location with 'old country pub' charm with a 20 min drive from Dubbo. Rooms were fairly simple simple but had what was needed and staff were very friendly and attentive to endeavor to make the stay as relaxed as possible. Location is nice and quiet and the grounds around the Inn are very serene and peaceful. Ideal spot for camper travellers and Inn is a great spot for travellers that are just after an affordable place to rest up and prefer a quiet country town type setting. Will happily return back on any future trips to Dubbo.

Remote and next to railway tracks. Trains not so bad. Room was cold. Suppled heated blanket. Bed comfortable and big. Only one PowerPoint. Disappointing. Pub like environment. Friendly people.

Wouldn’t stay again

The room had no lock! There was no bedside lamp, no rug on the cold floor and the toilet was a long way from the room. I didn’t feel safe in a room which couldn’t be locked. And I was cold. Had a decent burger for dinner.

Big good bed with bathroom en-suite next to it worth 80 dollars paid. It includes breakfast for two. However breakfast was never served because access to it was closed and was no one around. Some our food was in a fridge so we could not take it. During night a mouse jumped on my head squeezed somehow from the window and half a night was chewing something in a room corner. Hopefully backyard gates were open to let us out. Otherwise we would stuck in pub forever because of Easter holidays.

Stayed there for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. What a great experience, the staff and locals (and other travellers) we so friendly. On arrival I was greeted by Pipi at the front bar, she was wonderful and showed my to my room and gave me a run down of the establishment. After I settled in I headed to the bar, it was Friday night and quite busy with lots of friendly locals, all very welcoming. I ordered dinner from their menu which had a good choice of meals, but not overloaded with too many choices. I had the ‘Balli Burger’ it didn’t disappoint, it was well flavoured, presented well, had a side of chips and had beetroot (as all Aussie burgers should have). Washed it down with a schooner of Tooheys Old from the tap, something that is getting harder to find on tap in Sydney pubs. Saturday night was quieter, but just as good, Claire the bar lady was friendly and chatty too, as was all the staff I spoke with. Thanks Pipi, Claire, kitchen staff and locals for a great stay. I would definitely recommend if you are looking to stay at a friendly and well presented ‘Aussie bush Pub’.

Great Country Hospitality

Basic room with comfortable bed and electric blanket. Clean shared bathroom. Free breakfast with toast, cereal, coffee and tea. Easy check in. Cheap drinks at the bar
