"I stayed here with my 4 Yr old granddaughter the hotel and amenities were great The only downside was the food we stayed on a dinner and breakfast deal but found that the buffet lacked choice as very few options the salad bar was ok"

"My husband and I stayed here during our two week trip through Scotland from the United States. The hotel itself is in an excellent location, as you can walk to the downtown and all the shopping and restaurants very easily. We appreciated having the bar and breakfast right within the location itself. Excellent breakfast choices! The only downside that we found, was that the room was incredibly hot since the outdoor temperatures were in the 60s all week. We also found that there was a little bit of rust in the water when we first turned the faucet on. That cleared up after I use it. Overall, this is a very, very nice place to stay!"

"Wasn't up to the standard I would have expected from a Hydro Hotel, Hotel could do with some modernisation, was clean enough, but some areas look a bit worn down. Booked dinner b&b, food choices were restricted even choosing from extras available, but not from full menu, food was very mediocre. Service quite slow, no offer of drinks before meal, had to ask twice for drinks, didn't get drinks till main course. Breakfast buffet a bit better. No real staff interaction, even when booking out, not even asked if we enjoyed our stay or to have a nice day. As only one night, didn't make use of Pool or leisure facilities. Overall disapointed."

"We had a lovely stay with our dog. He was made to feel very welcome with plenty of treats and fusses from all the staff. The location is great and the area surrounding has plenty to see and do."

"Decent hotel for one night"

"Beautiful exterior and garden area, close to town. Unfortunately the 2nd floor room was hot enough to melt my recently purchased chocolate that was on the desk. Was about 80 to 85 degrees and there is no air-conditioning. The staff brought up a fan after multiple requests which we propped in the window that could only open about 6 inches. Contributing factors may have been the full hotel (and heat rising on a 60 degree day) or the exposed HOT to the touch pipe at the baseboards that went into the radiator (which was turned off). Rough night sleep where we debated sleeping in the lobby or going elsewhere about 10:30 PM."
