Rooms are great size, employees are super nice, breakfast is great. However, the hotel needs some refurbishment. Our room smelled musty and some corners have considerable wear and tear. Curtains need to be real blackout. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay for a short weekend.

All good in Bad Axe
except that the spa tub wasn't working, but I already knew that before registering. Comfort level was off the charts in a good way. My bed was sooooooo comfortable. Even the pillows trumped my home pillow! Mexican restaurant was within walking distance of the hotel had delicious food!

Not bad for a night stay.
When you book through a third party even though you are a higher ranked IHG member, you get treated differently. You don’t get the luxury of a late check out, etc. breakfast was terrible, even though the hotel had an upgrade not to long ago, it needs upgrades. We found out the owner is keeping illegals there and over working them. They also live in the hotel which gives off weird vibes. The beds were comfortable, the pool is cold.

In each room there are lights on top of the headboards. They didn’t turn off!! I called the front desk and that nice young man couldn’t get them off either. The person he called was the opposite of helpful saying “no, you can’t turn them off. If she doesn’t like it, you can give her a different room.” Why on earth do you think it’s okay to rent a $200 room to someone knowing the lights don’t turn off?!? No warning or disclaimer. Nothing until midnight when I and the staff can’t figure it out.
