"Loved the cottage and the welcome was truly wonderful! We did have problems with Maisie as there is no safe place to let her out as the cottage opens onto the road, also all the area around Rutland water is dogs on leads only so sadly no proper exercise there. We did find a truly wonderful walk around Empingham along the river through plantations of newly planted trees and the most incredible display of wildflowers, excellent!"

"Very close to Rutland water. Loads to do at Rutland. Rural location only accessable by car. The owner kindly let us charge the car at the house (we worked out and paid for the electricity used). I was pleased to find there is a freezer in the kitchen. There were lots of kitchen utensils which made cooking easy."

"We were all looking forward to our short Christmas break and we were not disappointed.. The cottage was easy to find and we had early access. The heating was on and everything looked cosy. Louise had left a hamper and a bottle of Champagne - thankyou The bedrooms were of good size and the beds were comfy with a bedroom downstairs with accessible bathroom which was for us invaluable. The lounge was very cosy and the kitchen/diner was well equipped with all we needed Louise was very helpful from...

"Lovely welcome, big comfortable warm room in a fine old building. No fridge, which seemed odd. There was a kitchen area with microwave after all. But that was the only (small) issue. We enjoyed our two nights there very much. The cooked breakfast was really good and we liked the bar on the ground floor. It was the weekend and the bar and restaurant were busy and noisy but soundproofing was good and our room above was quiet. We slept very well. Every member of staff with whom we interacted was...
