Me and 2 others had a great stay. They gave us early check in, had a very clean room, location was close to all the main areas, held our luggage, staff was helpful, and overall great. It was a great price too and couldn’t ask for a better stay especially for a more “budget” hotel.

We only stayed here for one night. The hotel was a convenient location and it’s a cute Spanish style looking hotel. My main concern was the box spring mattress. It looked concerning to me.

Because of the way the building is designed, you can hear all of the window AC units running, was difficult to sleep with window open. Nice clean room, and good location. I would not return just because of the ACs noise

They are still renovating this hotel but it is clean they do not have any cable set up for TV’s and the internet is spotty if you are okay with no TV and just want a clean place to sleep that is close to Von’s this hotel is fine

My husband and I stayed at Casa Avalon for two nights, and we had a wonderful experience! Erica was beyond kind and helpful throughout our stay. From making after-hours runs for extra towels and assisting with a toilet issue to her overall warm hospitality, she truly went above and beyond. Thank you so much, Erica! ❤️ We stayed in a Superior King Room on the 3rd floor with a beautiful ocean view. The room was clean, comfortable, and smelled fresh and refreshing. We also received two complimentary slippers, which was a nice extra touch. The location was very convenient — just 10–15 minutes from the Catalina Ferry and only one block from Vons. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at Casa Avalon again. We highly recommend it!

The room we had was clean and appeared to be recently refurbished. Wi-Fi in our room, but not we were told in all rooms yet. The partial ocean view was very partial. Only minor gripe is two bath towels per night needs to be four bath towels per night. The patios between certain floors were good places to hang out especially since the hotel has no lobby. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend Casa Avalon.

Great location & beautiful property. Unfortunately the TV in the room did not work. Also, the stairs from first floor to second floor need to be cleaned bc it gives a bad first impression. I was worried that the room would be dirty, but the room was very clean, strong bleach smell, I had to open window & blast AC. The only other issue was that there was no hand soap at the sink. All in all, good stay, I would stay there again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful they did inform us about not having a working tv which was not a huge deal but not having WiFi and having a complete cellular dead zone inside our room was a bummer. Other issue was the ac did not work well in our room it was on all three days nonstop during our stay and only got mildly cool and seemed very humid inside felt better at times outside. Overall decent for the price, central location close to grocery store decent views they even stored or luggage ask day as we had a late boat on our last day

The hotel staff are nice and helpful. The office provides complimentary water and coffee while open, in addition to offering a shared storage space for your luggage after checkout so you can still enjoy sites before your departure. The hotel itself is adequate, the rooms are clean and smell like cleaning products, the water pressure and shower is great and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispenser is thoughtful. We actually had two rooms the evening of our stay and they both had TVs. The cell service is non existent even with the complimentary WiFi our phones remained in SOS so we couldn’t make calls. The bed frames in both rooms were very old, in fact the reason we had a second room was because the bed frame in our ocean view room completely broke when my very tall, but thin husband sat down to watch tv. Fortunately the night keeper was very helpful and issued us another room, unfortunately it was not the ocean view we paid for but we were appreciative non the less. Despite the random instance our stay was comfortable and we’d stay again if need be.

I like the location of the hotel and that there were patios to sit at. The hotel is so conveniently located very close to the main street and close to everything. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was very large and there was a lot of room. One thing that I didn't like was the fact that the room smelled moldy and without opening the window it was hard to stay in it. I think the room needed to be aired out for a while before people could be put in it.

Has potential to be a great place to stay. We booked on Expedia and when arrived they didn't see our reservation and had overbooked the hotel. The room we were assigned had a few issues. It had a very unpleasant smell, musty, almost moldy, and chemically like paint stain. Left the door and window open for a long while to air out each day. No wifi connection in our room, seemed like each room had a modem, ours didn't, however wifi worked a little bit if you stood outside or downstairs in the lobby. No Tv (we didn't come to watch tv, but it was not yet wired up). A/C works great. Bed was ok, but a bit firm. Great friendly staff. Perhaps the other rooms were better, but don't know. I would probably give it another try next time and hope for a better outcome. Overall we were gone all day and only spent sleeping time in there.
