About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Within 5 minutes drive from arrival on Waiheke, your ultimate Bach 52 chill-out experience awaits. This cleverly designed, stylish space is discretely located at the end of an elevated bush-clad peninsular running alongside Anzac Bay, with accommodation and decking laid out to maximise sun, privacy and the dramatic grandstand native bush and bay's-edge views below. A private bush track leading from the house takes you to a little-known, safe, all-tide swimming beach.
The tranquil waterfront location and outlook to Te Whau headland across the bay feels remote, yet is so central to the island's very best beaches, vineyards and cafes, as well as car and foot passenger ferries. It's a surprisingly short stroll to the shops and cafes of Ostend village, where you'll find the famous weekend markets. From here you could explore the white sands of Palm Beach - just 2-3 minutes by car. A 5-6 minute drive will have you at Oneroa village and beach, or in the other direction at Onetangi for more great beachfront cafes. Ostend is the hub of the island's bus service and you'll find a stop to take you almost anywhere, just at the end of the street.
This striking one bedroom house has undergone meticulous renovation in recent years, including a custom-built Smeg kitchen and new bathroom and toilet. Large windows throughout frame magical views - you feel as though you're hanging over the water. Bi-folding and French doors seamlessly connect all living spaces with decks which enjoy all day sun. The bedroom, also with dramatic bush and sea views, is spacious and fresh and the enormous Pohutukawa picture window gives the feeling of a tree house - just stunning when in red Christmas bloom.
B52 is the ultimate place and couple's space, to escape, chill, dream, unwind, disconnect from the rat-race and reconnect with your own pace. So easy to find, so hard to leave - unforgettable nature, seascape and landscape...
Special conditions: - The property is not suitable for small children and those less able, due to the multi-level layout, open internal staircase and bedroom balcony. - Ten steps and a short sloping path laid in white chip, lead from the flat off-street parking, down to the house. - The short driveway is of relatively easy gradient. We do however request those without 4wd to park on the street; many guests are unfamiliar on loose metal. - The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac with ample on-street parking immediately outside, which is also flat and in view of the house. - The boat mooring is suitable for vessels up to 6 metres in length / 0.33m draft and may only be used by prior arrangement. - Smoking is only permitted outside. - Pets may only be permitted upon application.
Extras: Cleaning - NZ$85.00 per stay (required) Linen - NZ$40.00 Queen bed / $20.00 per person per sofabed (required) Pet fee - NZ$15.00 per pet per night (optional)

This batch was great place to stay at , views were justAmazing and perfect home layout with all the things you’d need for your stay , would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Waiheke Island
This holiday bach totally lived up to the advert. Stunning views of the sea and wonderful bird watching. It was so relaxing and hard to leave. Chris called and helped us settle in, which was nice. Everything was easy. We were grateful to find a place that welcomed dogs. Thanks to the hosts!
We love this bach and have stayed there at least five times. The host is extremely helpful, providing lists of "to do" things both on Waiheke and how to operate various appliances etc. in the house. It is always spotlessly clean and has everything you could possible want in the kitchen. The view is delightful, framed by two HUGE pohutakawa trees and the local walks down to the water or along the cliffs to the end of the peninsula are very rewarding.
Wonderful little place over looking the water -
Owner was available and helpful from the start. Location was a bit out of the way, but that was perfect as it was quiet and very peaceful.
Would suggest having a vehicle.
But can’t fault the joint.
Excellent place to stay - 5 stars 🌟
This is a delightful property with attractive architecture and really pleasant views. There are some interesting walks from the property itself but it is also located centrally to Oneroa, Palm Beach, Onetangi and Rocky Bay. There is some good coffee available in the nearby Ostend village and the Saturday market there has an abundance of different stalls. We are so pleased to have found this bach which we enjoy returning to for a few days rest and relaxation whether it be summer or winter.
This was our third visit to this property. We love it because of its interesting architectural style, the amazing views (water and trees), the peacefulness of the place and its handy location to other attractions on the island. This time we had a friend from Queensland staying with us and he, too, was most impressed not only by no. 52 but by Waiheke as a whole!
Great base for our 5 days of winery dinning including a session at the Irish Pub where they changed the channel to Supercars for us.
The weather wasnt flash so couldnt take full advantage of the cottage deck cooking and eating and relaxing but heat pump kept us warm inside.
The setting is quite surreal
Being at Bach52 has been a dream we never expected. We included a stop in Waiheke on our trip to New Zealand as a place to rest and spend our last few days, but this place has felt like a sweet home for us in New Zealand. The location is perfect, and the house is a dream—very comfortable in every way, with unbeatable views. The owners of Bach52 are also incredibly attentive and warm, something that is reflected in the wonderful energy of the house! We are so grateful for our stay here and remain hopeful that such well-cared-for and loving places continue to exist!
We had a great time staying at Bach 52.
Stunning views and everything we needed for a relaxing escape from Auckland.
The hosts were really friendly and welcoming.
Will definitely come again.
Our stay at this property was perfect - from the communication with the owner - from check in to check out. We rate this as one of the best we have stayed at. Location and amenities could not be better. We would love to stay again!
We absolutely loved our stay! The home is beautifully designed with a huge multi-layered deck and the glass walls open up to make you feel like your living in a tree house and overlooking the ocean. It is clean and has a well appointed kitchen with everything you could need to cook or BBQ. Highly recommend this place.
