Newly Renovated Cute Cottage on Crooked Lake - aka, Baby Bear

This cottage has it's own dock, a newly added metal roof with skylights, and includes a canoe with the rental. Beautiful 600 sq/ft Trex deck built in the trees high above the lake. Large 2 acre lot, so lots of privacy.

Rental includes 5 watercraft at no additional charge. The breakdown is 2 kayaks, 2 fishing boats, and 1 canoe. The 8 ft fishing boat includes an electric motor. No mixing of oil/gas just charge it as needed.

This cottage is next door to the larger Atlanta house., Papa Bear. Great for family re-unions or large groups. Papa Bear will be available for rent from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Located on Crooked Lake which is a no-wake lake, i.e., no jet ski's or fast boats. Great for fishing, canoeing and swimming! The house sits high on a hill overlooking the lake.

Sleeper sofa and inflatable mattress sleeps up to 6 people total. Master bedroom has a queen size bed. Fireplace, fire pit and a deck overlooking the lake. Water craft included at no extra charge.

Include all dished, pots and pans, linens, and towels.

Newly redone bathroom with a jet tub, all new fixtures, new window and drywall. Very clean, light and modern.

New wood flooring, new 49" HDTV TV, additional 38" HDTV for DVD's, 20 or so DVD to watch.

Comfortable cabin with a beautiful view

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed eating on the deck overlooking the water and having a fire down by the lake in the evening. Marc is a very friendly and accommodating host.

Great view of lake

Very nice cottage. The deck was great. The lake was very clear you could see fish and turtles in the water. Watched a loon swim under my kayak. Very nice and relaxing time.

This was just what we needed to unwind. The cabin was perfect, and the lake views were beautiful. Loved hearing the loons in the morning with our morning coffee. Marc was a superb host. We will deffinately be back

Quiet getaway

What a gem! We were looking for a quiet, cozy getaway and we found it! The lake is crystal clear and the fishing was great! The cabin was clean and just perfect for the 2 of us and our dog! And the coveted gazebo was perfect for listening to the rain!The lake is very calm, perfect for a small boat. The host Mark was so nice and hospitable! Can't wait to come back!

Private, quiet and peaceful

Very private, quiet and peaceful location. It rained most of our stay, but the lake and leaves were so pretty. We had games, puzzles and lots of channels on the rain days. The manager was very friendly and even left us a little gift when we arrived. We really did have everything thing we needed except for food. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

Fishing Cabin

Everything went great and the fishing was phenomenal. Definitely some of the best largemouth, small mouth, and pike fishing that I've had on smaller lakes up north. The fishing boat with a small gas engine was a nice touch and worked great for getting around the lake. The welcome bag of wine, meat, and cheese was great as well. The deck was a perfect place to eat meals and perfect having both a gas and charcoal grill on the deck available for grilling. Would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

Baby Bear " This One Is Just Right"

Booked Baby Bear for a few days ( August 19-23) to get away from the city life. This place was amazing. From the moment we walked in we instantly relaxed! Baby Bear is semi-secluded with a beautiful view of Crooked Lake. We spent most of our time on the tree house deck that's has the best view of the lake. Since Baby Bear is a dog friendly rental we were able to take our two Labs who had the time of their lives running and jumping of the deck into the lake. The cottage was cozy and clean. Marc was a first class host checking in with us via email to make sure we were comfortable and everything was going well. Would totally re-rent Baby Bear for the fall color change! If you want a quiet, semi secluded cottage with a spectacular view of the lake rent Baby Bear!! 🐻🐻🐻

Needs work

We had great weather. Lots of trails to ride in the area. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the cabin. There were ants in kitchen, owner did provide ant traps, but didn’t work the greatest. The property needs some TLC, The brick walkway down to the dock needs to be updated, bricks are loose. The dock needs to be fixed, it is not level, boards should be replaced. The boat provided had a leak, and didn’t have any MC or updated sticker, not legal to use on the water, life jackets offered were old and we were not comfortable using. Cabin only had 1 bath and 1 hand towel for the bathroom , called for more and owner brought some over. The deck constantly had pine needles dropping due to all the trees, broom for the deck was also half gone and didn’t work well, should be replaced. Do not recommend

Nice lakefront location. House was average but comfortable. Boats and boating equipment didn’t seem to be well taken care of. Host was not quick to respond to inquiries/questions. Wifi was sufficient.

Beautiful view for a peaceful getaway!

The view of water is amazing. Being able to sit outside on the beautiful Trex deck (no splinters) to eat and relax is priceless. The cabin is cute and clean. Anything you could need during your stay is already there.

Crooked Lake cabin

The current condition of the property is not what it is in the VRBO description. It needs a deep clean and some maintenance. We were greeted with a large bag of trash when we opened the front door. The bathroom was dirty and needed cleaned. Fortunately, there was some cleaning supplies available, so we cleaned. There was dirty laundry on the floor and in the washer/dryer we had to finish. The description of cabin states "sleeps six", but there was only one queen bed and two futon couches that together would accommodate 4 at the most. The grounds had not been mowed for weeks and landscaping unattended. I located a leaf blower in a shed and used to clean off the deck/chairs (covered in pine needles/leaves) There were two kayaks and a small jon boat with motor. We had to drain/empty rainwater out of all 3. The PFD's were all dirty/moldy from being left outside. Fortunately, I located some dry ones in the shed along with a couple paddles. The dock is in very poor shape and should be replaced (surprised it did not collapse). There was no anchor for the boat which made it difficult to fish from without drifting toward shore. The fishing was also poor which was the main reason we wanted to stay there. Despite these issues, I believe there is potential to make this a great cabin, but it needs managed and maintained.

Quaint cabin

When we arrived it was very easy check in. We liked that it had all of the amenities that we needed and more. I wasn’t able to contact the host in regards to a few suggestions. My small dog was able to climb under the futons where she found multiple m&ms and ended up ingesting them. We proceeded to pull back the futon and vacuumed underneath where we found many more food items. I did email the host but with no response. The dock was nice to fish off of and swim. Very beautiful piece of property.
