Loved the breakfast options. Friendly.

We have stayed there twice now and the quality comfort cleanliness and pleasant staff are consistent.. All the important things are there but more importantly there is no skimping on the little stuff .... a vast array of teas and coffees including plunger grounds, laundry powder, laundry facilities in the unit,heated bathroom floor, big bed and the usual welcoming smile

Warm clean and close to everything

It had everything we needed, was close to cafes, bars & restaurants. Lots of nice little touches throughout. Very comfy bed, & the suite felt plush & cosy. Will definitely stay there again & highly recommend to anyone going to Nelson.

Great accomodation, great location and great dinning. The bar and restaurant staff were all lovely. One gripe is the parking. Not enough for all guests and if you want a guaranteed parking space you have to pay $15.

Very nice close to the city centre. Nice and quiet nice room warm overall would recommend to others!!!

We had the family 2 bedroom unit which was a great size, had everything we needed and more. We were glad of the AC as it was a warm day and the spa bath was a bonus too

Room was great but would of been good to at least have had a microwave. Love that had the restaurant right there. Great food and staff

Great hotel in the middle of town, 30 seconds to 5min walk to all bars, restaurants and a movie theater. Would happily stay again.

Located a great deal on hire car for us

We had an amazing time The beds were super comfy and it’s very clean. We had the room overlooking the football field. The roof had a balcony attached which became my favourite spot. The best part was meeting Fraser. He gave us a super warm welcome and made sure our stay was perfect in every way. While cooking I accidentally dropped and broke the microwave turntable but he replaced it within ten minutes and did not charge us anything extra at all. We are very grateful to him. The motel is...

From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out we could not fault any part of our stay. We booked two rooms for a party of four, one of which has mobility issues. We were accommodated to the fullest but were also given rooms next to each other and close to the entrance of the hotel which seems like a small thing but actual meant a great deal. The rooms were clean and warm and had everything we needed for our stay. The location is pretty great too - 5 minutes walk away from Tahunanui...

Sunsets were terrific. Very spacious.

After driving from Picton in the heavy rain it was nice to arrive at my Nelson motel. Check in was fast and it was great to unpack in my comfortable room. The next morning was sunny and I did the PIC’S Peanut butter factory tour at 10am. This is only a 10 minute drive from the motel and free, but must be booked online beforehand. After the tour I went next door to Pomeroys for a coffee and bought some of their Cranberry and Carot Tea before driving to Westport.

Wow what a beautiful stay for us. The cottage was amazing, full of unique treasures, Mark & John the perfect hosts. I say this was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. 🙂

Friendly staff at reception, large clean room, handy location

We could not fault you in ANY way, everything is as it should be in a first class hotel -, BEAUTIFUL building, classy and tasteful, great staff, service, food and good sized, very comfortable, rooms. Staying at the Rutherford was the icing on our stay in Nelson. Thank you, Rutherford, you are a credit to NZ.
