"Property was overbooked, so we were relocated to another hotel. However, when we arrived no one from staff or owners was there. But I have to mention that owner was very helpful in founding us another hotel. Property in very nice location, on the beach, dirty corridors and not finished around, but has a very good potential. Also bar staff are very unfriendly, rude and did not seem to be interested in their job at all."

"I traveled to Erietta for 3 nights with my two daughters in October, and we had a great experience. The staff were welcoming, friendly and understanding upon arrival, and even had our room ready early. We felt safe and relaxed the entire time. The restaurant on site is open for snacks all day, and they serve the most amazing breakfast we've ever had included with a hotel stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a beautiful view of Kefalonia across the sea..the showers were so nice that even...

"Lovely stay at Filoxenia Hotel in Zante. The food was lovely and a good selection for myself and my friend and we are both vegetarian and vegan. The rooms are refurbished and modern. There is a lovely spacious pool area with sun loungers. The hotel is in walking distance of the nearby town where you can enjoy the beach. A few minor improvements could be made. Reusable plastic cups for the pool area would be very good, as these won't blow away in the wind and are more eco friendly. Some kind of...

Lesante Blu - The Leading Hotels of the World, Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful new hotel. Amazing view from the balcony. Very good breakfast. Swimming pool, beach , restaurants , spa and fitness. They have everything you need."

Tsamis Zante Suites - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"The property was lovely and a great place for “home base”. We had a sea view, top floor room and I would definitely recommend. Most of the staff was amazing, Dmitris and I believe Angela at the front desk were both lovely and helpful. The cleaning staff did an amazing job and deserves accolades for their daily reset. Visali (spelling?), I believe he’s a “concierge”, was very unkind one day when I parked our little Picanto in the wrong spot. He berated at me in front of the hotel lobby and accused me of “moving cones”, which I wouldn’t do—and that made the day and the stay just a little less “shiny”."

Marelen Hotel

8/10 Good

"The housekeeping team did a great job of keeping our room clean and tidy however they are hampered by not having the right size sheets for the beds. A double bed is not 2 singles pushed together so when hotels do this the sheets do not fit making each nights sleep uncomfortable and annoying. Staff at the restaurant were welcoming and friendly and the buffet was always very well presented, re supplied and with lots of choice. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We did not use the pools but they looked well looked after. The hotel is very well located, just a short walk down the road to the blue flag awarded Kalamaki beach. The hotel is on the flight path for the nearby airport but this did not bother us at all. We had a hire car and there is a small free car park to use and there is space on the road outside also. We had an issue with the safe when we arrived and this was sorted promptly. We recommend this hotel."

Tzante Hotel Zakynthos - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"The staff were amazing and the level of hospitality made me feel like family. We were however quite disappointed with our room. The electricity was constantly tripping, the hairdryer they provided was making it trip. And if you had too many lights on at once the electricity would shut down too. The AC was quite temperamental and there was one day our room was stuck at 30 degrees but we were told by a member of staff that it was still cool in our room (?). Also even though we stayed in the more modern, updated rooms the sink kept leaking and it smelt of sewage."

Klelia Beach Hotel - All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"The hotel and staff are great. Beautiful pool and hotel. What you don't know until you get there that this is for families with young children, and couples over 55 that don't want to leave the hotel. There is nothing in the area to do except to go to the beach, which does not have beach bars. But everything with the hotel is great."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Askos?

The best area to stay in Askos is the village centre itself, particularly around the small harbour.

This area is the heart of Askos, offering a relaxed village setting with easy access to the sea. You'll find a selection of traditional tavernas and a few local shops lining the waterfront and the narrow streets leading away from it. The harbour is where the local fishing boats dock, providing a picturesque backdrop.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. It's superb for enjoying quiet evenings by the water, dining on fresh seafood, and taking leisurely strolls. The pace of life here is slow, encouraging relaxation without the hustle and bustle of larger resorts.

For those prioritising stunning sea views and a bit more seclusion, consider accommodations on the hillsides just above the village centre.

When is the best time to go to Askos?

The best time to go to Askos is during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June and September to early October.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm but not excessively hot temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the island and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience. Many businesses are fully operational, and you'll typically find better value on accommodation and flights.

For those looking primarily for heat and sunshine for beach holidays, the peak summer months of July and August are also suitable. While it can be very warm, the island is well-equipped for visitors at this time, with all services and attractions operating at full capacity.
