Fog & Fern Hideaway at Mt. Rainier
Welcome to Fog & Fern Hideaway, a thoughtfully updated 720 sq ft cabin nestled in the forested foothills of Mt. Rainier, just under 2 hours from Seattle and only minutes from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park.
Originally built in 1968, this cozy home has been renovated to blend modern comfort with timeless mountain charm. Perfect for couples, solo travelers, or small families, it sleeps up to 6 guests and offers the ultimate space to unplug and unwind.
Upstairs, you’ll find a beautiful, cedar-lined A-frame style sleeping area featuring two built-in queen beds with storage, and a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo, newer toilet and sink, plus soft towels and basic toiletries.
The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed for a home-cooked meal: a 30" range, blender, waffle maker, toaster, utensils, pots and pans, and both a standard drip coffee maker and pour-over option (coffee grounds provided; bring your favorite creamer).
The living room is cozy and inviting with a wood-burning stove, puzzles, board games, Bluetooth speaker, and a smart TV with Firestick (log in to your own Netflix or Prime account).
Step out onto the private deck, where you’ll hear the sounds of nature. Relax in the cedar soaking hot tub or gather around the fire pit on cool evenings (please follow fire safety rules and note that firewood is only provided during fall and winter months).
You’ll also have access to a community lake just one mile away, ideal for a summer swim or peaceful picnic.
Mt. Rainier National Park offers an array of activities including hiking, biking, fishing, and site seeing. We recommend downloading the National Park Service app on your phone to see everything that Mt. Rainier has to offer, get updates on road closures and more! Outside of Mt. Rainier National Park, Ashford is a charming town that's worth the visit. Check out local eateries and shops, visit the community lake, or choose to have a totally relaxing stay just at the cabin.
Our cabin is perfect for creatives; photographers and influencers welcome! Please reach out to us for collabs.
Things to Know Before Booking: To help ensure every guest has a comfortable and enjoyable stay, please take a moment to review a few important details before booking. We have a strict no pet policy, and kindly note that our only bathroom and all sleeping areas are located upstairs. The cabin includes two queen-size beds, comfortably accommodating up to four guests. For additional sleeping arrangements, we offer a futon-style couch or an air mattress, and we’re currently in the process of upgrading to a brand-new sofa sleeper, which may be available depending on the timing of your stay. While our cabin feels private and tucked away off the road, it is located within a neighborhood, and we do have nearby neighbors; no parties are allowed and quiet hours must be observed out of respect for our community. More helpful details and guidelines can be found in our Welcome Booklet, provided for you at the cabin.

Cozy & cute cabin!
We live this cabin! We’ve stayed here a couple times and it’s perfect! Super cozy and cute. Location is perfect for a Rainier adventure, down the street for some great restaurants, and the beds are very comfy. And of course - the hot tub soaker is a game changer. All around great stay!

Cozy and peaceful cabin
Fog & Fern Hideaway was so nice and cozy! Cabin is on the smaller side, but we had everything we need. Kitchen was very well equipped but there is no dishwasher. Enjoyed our morning tea on the back deck admiring the greenery and listening to the birds. And cedar hot tub was amazing! It was so peaceful and perfect. Very close to Mt Rainier entrance and short drive to several restaurants so it was very convenient. Would love to go back in the winter to curl up next to the fire stove!
