"Perfect experience. This is the only hotel I stay in when I come to DC. I arrived 3 hours early and they had no problem getting me into the room with a smile and positive energy. I always feel WELCOME during my stay. Keep up the great work!!!!!"

"Hotel was nice, clean and in a good location. Initially I was not going to make a review but after a second issue arose, I decided to go ahead and review. Upon arrival I was asked to pay the nightly rate. I let the front desk know that I had prepaid for my room so there should not be any charges other than the standard hold. After a while of her looking into it, she let me know that she could see where I had prepaid and that I would only be charged the hold. She also provided a free room upgrade for the inconvenience, which I felt was very kind and good customer service. We stayed one night and in the morning I checked my banking app to see that I had been charged not only the standard hold fee but another fee almost double the hold fee. I never authorized this second charge, but there it was. At checkout I asked the man at the front desk about this charge. He told me he reversed it, but my issue is being charged a whole new fee that I NEVER authorized. I waited out the weekend in hopes of seeing the fee reversed on Monday, but that was not the case. Called the hotel and was told it could be up to 10 business days for this non-authorized fee to be returned. That is extremely bad business. Very grateful I don’t need that money urgently to pay a bill, buy groceries, etc. Although the hotel was decent, it makes me question whether I’d stay again. "

"Great location and great staff! Walking distance to sight seeing, restaurants and transportation. Our first room didn’t have the best plumbing. They gave us another room. They also wrote us a note and provided us snacks for the inconvenience. I would definitely stay here again. "

"I would 100% recommend this hotel to a friend or colleague. Everyone was super pleasant. The room was fresh and clean and while on the smaller side had everything I needed. The only thing I was unprepared for was the fact that there is no in room coffee situation. you have to go down to the main floor to get coffee. I totally understand this from an environmental perspective. I just wasn’t aware of it on the front end. Perhaps I skimmed over that part and I had arrived in the hotel at like 2 o’clock in the morning due to a delayed flight so the following morning I was unprepared to go down to the main floor for my 1st cup of coffee. In the end, though that is literally the only Minor complaint I had the place was great. I would stay there again."

"We were here for our wedding last summer, and we came back for a mini weekend getaway. We love Hotel Nell. Quiet, unsuspected gem in Union Market. The only “weird” thing was that there is no additional lock on the door as is common in most hotels, but it is not a safety concern, just something I’m used to seeing and it wasn’t there. We’ll come back for our anniversary! Love Hotel Nell."
