We had a great time! We stayed here two years in a row for Spring Break and it had snow both times. My son and his friend enjoyed sledding down the hill and the cabin has plenty of room for everyone.

Comfortable house in good location

Beds comfortable, easy access to house and in quiet neighborhood. Short walk to fire roads into Big Trees. Kitchen well stocked except for mostly non-stick pans which we prefer not to use. We are used to that in rentals so we always bring a couple good cooking pans

Great place to stay ! Good location for things to do . Cabin was stocked with very old worn out things ( beds , kitchen , towels and barbecue , Seen lots of use over years but if you can over look it’s a fun place Just bring towels .

Perfect place to decompress

My sister and I enjoyed the location...very quiet with beautiful trees in every direction. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the "cabin" very much. Very nice to be able to include our dogs. We would recommend this place to anyone who needs to rest and relax.

Great House, Great Location!

We loved this cabin in Camp Connell, a winter wonderland sitting above a small creek in a beautiful setting. Short drive to town, skiing, Calaveras Big Trees SP, etc. It’s a good layout, with two beds and comfortable living upstairs and a pool table and third bedroom downstairs. We’ll be back.

Lovely cabin, had a great time

Great spot in Dorrington! Cabin feels like home. Kitchen is nicely stocked with essentials. Easy access, right on the street (no long driveway, just a few steps to the front door). Pool table was a lot of fun. No fenced yard for dog, but plenty of space to roam around on leash.

Cabin is very comfortable and in a great location in BTV. Super quiet and peaceful. Liked the upstairs sitting area around gas stove and also the kitchen. Lots of light and view of trees. Great view of stars at night out on deck. April was very communicative and helpful.

Third Time's a Charm

This was our third stay at this property, and it was once again wonderful. The location of the cabin is great, easy to find off the highway, and close to a variety of Sierra activities. We hiked at Big Trees, shopped and ate in Murphys, and went up the hill to spend an afternoon at Lake Alpine. The cabin's amenities were as advertised and in good condition. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck, watching the trees and squirrels through the large windows, cooking in the kitchen, and playing pool downstairs. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Great peaceful family getaway

Lovely house, bathrooms had everything you might need, and usually forget, like q-tips and make up removing wipes. View from both decks was lovely you. Perfect combination of spacious grounds, but not to isolated. No air conditioning, but opening the windows overnight and using the ceiling fans in the living rooms and bedrooms kept us cool. Easy communication with the property caretaker.

Beautiful Cabin

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas at this cabin. It's in a beautiful, private, heavily-wooded neighborhood. The wrap around balconies are a pleasant place to enjoy the scenery. The house had all the essentials you need for your stay. One thing to note is that the stairs are very steep. My dog slipped down them a couple times (she's old). So if you have joint problems or older pups keep that in mind. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Forest Retreat

We loved the space, decor, well-stocked kitchen, comfy mattresses. It is a beautiful location and my only recommendations are to create a host book with all info in one place and directions on how to walk into the park…also, the reason fragrance-free laundry detergent is created is because many of us can’t handle strong fragrances. And, finally, fix the tile/edging inside the front door—I left a bit of my skin behind because of it. I do recommend this lodging for the many other reasons I have noted.

Totally surrounded by woods in nature

The house was located deep in the woods with fabulous windows. Eating meals was like bird watching with all the comforts of home. However my son works high tech & there was absolutely no signals—we were totally cut off from the internet civilization which was sooo relaxing for a us retired folks. But, he kept having to drive down past Arnold to get a signal to check on his work….wifi was spotty at best!

Great stay

We loved this cabin and felt the pictures didn’t do it justice. Check in and communication were easy and great. A few things to keep in mind, there is no air conditioner so the place was HOT during the summer, although there were many fans in the home. We also didn’t have paper towels or napkins. The home is pet friendly which is nice for those with pets, although if you have a dog/cat allergy you may want to skip this one. We did experience a small amount of dog hair (nonetheless the home was as clean as a pet friendly home could be). We would definitely return, possibly in winter next time.

Perfect escape location

The cabin and location were fantastic. Our problems all came with getting into the home and information provided that were inaccurate. When we arrived the lock box would not open and we were unable to connect to the wifi in the home because the email from Evolve had the wrong password. It had been changed and Evolve did not have the correct password. Because we had no cell coverage at the cabin we had to drive into town and borrow a phone at the Chevron station to connect with Emily, the local contact. She said that the lockbox was "Tricky" and described in detail how to open it. We returned to the cabin and again tried to open it. We were still unable to get it open. We again traveled back to the Chevron station and called Emily offering to pay her to return to the cabin and open it for us. Via message we eventually got her to come and open the home for us. We thanked her and gave her a tip for her trouble. The next day I did report these issues to Evolve via telephone.

Nice place but needs improvements

The place was nice and quiet but not well cleaned. The ceiling fans were full of dust which we could not use since we had. 2 people with dust allergies. Also all the decorations by the big window were dusty and had spiderwebs. One of the tubs didn’t hold the water to use to soak. The outside deck and chairs were dirty. The couches were very uncomfortable, they need an upgrade. I would return hoping they took care of these issues.

Decent stay

Checking in was not easy. The lock box was not easy to figure out and we had to drive 20 min down the mountain to get cell service to call the manager. It took us over an hour to finally get in. But The house has a nice smell to it and every room was clean. The kitchen has good supplies to cook with and lots of fun games to play. I do wish the carpets were cleaner. They have a lot of stains on them. Also keep in mind the house has no AC, which makes it impossible to want to hang out during the summer days. But it is in a great location and got to enjoy the outdoors a lot! Overall our stay was decent.

Clean and well furn

This is a beautifully furnished home, clean with a wonderful downstairs game room, table, many board games and a pool table which we enjoyed. Easy access to the upstairs where the living room, kitchen and two bedrooms are located (no stairs needed). We loved taking walks around the wrap around deck. It was cold for the first day and a half (this was in June) as the thermostat wasn't working (it needed a new filter) which April came over to install and the gas stove wasn't working because the pilot light was not left on. April's community handyman came over, started the pilot light and instructed us on how to use it which was easy once he explained it to us. This was our first time in a VRBO and the difference as to staying in a hotel is that if something is not quite right you can't just go down to the front desk and have someone come over right away. Beautiful setting and we enjoyed our stay here.
