We had an amazing two week stay at Villa Camaleon! It’s location is amazing, and although the short drive up the mountain was hair-raising to begin with (we didn’t arrive until midnight), we soon got used it. The views are unlike anything else and the fact it’s remote means we really had chance to switch off and relax during our stay.
The nearest town is only a short 10-15 minute drive away, which is great when you need to get food shopping, visit the beach or go for a nice meal (thoroughly recommend Safari Loung in Torre Del Mar). A little further is Nerja, which is only 40 minutes away, which has beaches, shops, markets and tourist attractions like the Caves.
The villa itself is clean, well equipped and clearly well maintained with the added bonus of excellent WiFi! There was 6 adults in our party and plenty of room for all of us. We spent most of our time in the pool area, which looks out onto incredible views of the mountains and coastline. The hammocks and day bed were also a big hit with us and perfect for getting a bit of shade after a day in the sun.
It was a novelty to be able to sit on the terrace/porch area in the evening and enjoy a BBQ and a few drinks. More often than not we were joined by James and Nina’s two dogs, Mini and George, who were great company for us (they don’t come inside the villa).
James and Nina were the perfect hosts and really made our stay! They live just underneath the villa, but you would never know they were there. They were really helpful, friendly and attentive throughout our stay, giving us tips of things to do and places to visit - for example, walking to the top of the mountain where the villa is situated, where the views are out of this world! If you’re looking for a chilled out, relaxing break in the sun then I would thoroughly recommend staying at villa Camaleon. We’ll definitely be returning very soon!
