La Villetta del Gelso Bianco is nestled in the vast Pontine Plain, specifically in the Campo di Carne area, which, towards the end of World War II, witnessed the German retreat and the advance of the Allies—including those who had recently landed at nearby Anzio. The area is steeped in history while blending seamlessly with nature. La Villetta del Gelso Bianco is part of the Consorzio di Villaggio Verde, a community of various villas and cottages, and is served by a shuttle bus to the Campo di Carne railway station, from which you can reach Rome by train in about 40 minutes; otherwise, travelling in the opposite direction takes you to the Roman coast, specifically to the beaches of Tor San Lorenzo and Ardea.
