"Loved walking around and shopping in charming, old Swiss Appenzell as well as the variety of restaurants. Our room was comfortable and the owner and employees’ attention to details made it special, like a terrarium in the bathroom, good breakfast included, limited parking in their lot, and a large selection of tv channels. "The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet.The room was an OK size. The bathroom was a bit small but with the sink being in a separate area there was good space. The hotel is right on the doorstep of the Abbey District and other attractions are a short walk away. There is also good public transport connections nearby if you're looking to travel out further. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel."
"The whole experience was wonderful. Very clean and very comfortable. The host was friendly and made sure we had everything. There is a kitchenette on each floor and laundry machines on the upper floor. Each room has a mini fridge. (No freezers) The furnishings in the room are well done. The room photos online are legit and reflect how nice it is. There are quiet hours too, so we had a good sleep. "

Only negative comment is we are not a fan of carpet in hotel rooms. Carpet was clean but prefer uncarpeted floors."

"The hotel was nice and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. There is no air-conditioning and the weather was hot, so the room was uncomfortable. The second day we asked forva fan, and they brought us a small one that was partially broken, butbit did help. The location was fine, on a main square, close to the restaurants, but a 8-10 minute walk to the teain station, our primary transportation. They had a wonderful breakfast available, and the restaurant was quite good for dinner as well."
"Excellent, very helpful staff. A super room (we were upgraded) with sinks in the large bedroom and the WC. Up-to-date, but with beautiful wood joinery. Fine breakfast, with a gluten-free option. Elevator and library and a good location a few hundred yards from the main square. No restaurant, but there are many others nearby, including at their partner Hotel Romantic Santis on the main square. Has a same-day laundry service. Only drawback is lack of parking, but you can stop in front to load and unload, then park in the public parking."

"Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Appenzell. Close to the historic town as well as grocery stores. A little difficulty finding the parking entrance, but the property manager was very helpful. We'd definitely recommend this comfortable home away from home."
