"Hotel with good location and proximity to city center. Room is very basic and less detailed than some of the others we’ve stayed at, but good for a night’s sleep. Breakfast is good with a wide selection of both Western and Japanese options. The dining room was cute and nicely decorated for Christmas."
"Being able to stay in a Japanese traditional small home with ALL modern accessories in a totally walkable castle town without overwhelming crowds is something special. The staff is very accommodating, the included breakfast and optional dinner are excellent. And the several touristic sites, including two villas and gardens, as well as the castle are worth the visit."
"Wonderful place! The staff is great and the room was the perfect size with wonderful amenities! There are plenty of food options around and it’s about a 5 minute walk from the tram station! Each room also has its own AC where some hotels in Japan only have central AC it was nice to have personal control."
"This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. After being cramped in many Japanese hotels and ryokans, this was much much larger with three queen/full size beds, a 65" TV and an outdoor bath (mineral salts available in the lobby). However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station depending on the room you're staying in given you contact them at least three days in advance. Although our Shinkansen was unexpectedly delayed by two hours due to rain/lightning, they patiently waited for our arrival and did not leave us stranded. Perhaps the only downside was that we only stayed two nights as I felt we could've done with some more downtime and taking advantage of the amenities including the bikes and SUPs. I hope to return again soon, staying for a longer time next time. Thank you Marissa Resort for giving us an incredible and memorable vacation!"
