Washington Plaza Hotel

"I’ve stayed in this hotel multiple times and I keep coming back because the location is excellent: the McPherson Square metro station is about 15 minutes walk but the bus stop is right next to the hotel. Checking in was easy and the front desk agent (John) was extremely professional, and he also helped us find restaurants. In my traveling companion’s room there was an issue that we addressed and they fixed it by the time we returned from our trip. They recently renovated the lobby and it is beautiful - I’m hoping they will start renovating the rooms as well as they’re a little outdated. No issues with cleanliness, there’s a coffee/tea maker and a mini fridge in the room and they provided 2 bottles of water and coffee/tea. Housekeeping kept refilling what needed. If you have a car and want to use their garage, that would be an extra charge (I believe it was $50/night). Breakfast is $18/person. When we checked out we asked to store our luggage in their storage and they did accommodate it. I highly recommend this hotel for those who do looking for a nice hotel experience and enjoy what DC can offer."

"We had a wonderful stay overall! The hotel staff were fantastic, our room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was great, and the location is unbeatable for checking out local restaurants. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars due to an unfortunate experience at the hotel's Rooftop Bar. The bartender was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. Just as it began to lightly sprinkle, he immediately announced he was closing down. We had barely received our drinks when he rushed over with the check, repeating that he was shutting down. It felt like he couldn't wait to leave work, which really put a damper on what should have been a relaxing evening enjoying a beautiful view."

"The check in was easy and the place was clean.Only issues- utensils and cooking utensils were minimal. Water pressure in the bathroom sinks was poor. Water came out in a dribble.The men in the group were most disappointed that there was no air hockey table as pictured! -LOLFor a small group coming into the city to see the sights this works well!"
