"Decent hotel for the money. Pictures are deceiving. Pool has limited chairs. Did not eat at the hotel at all because there was always a faint smell of vomit. Room was old and needs updating. The housekeeper opened the door to the deck daily which made the room extremely hot upon entering and you are unable to leave on the air conditioning when you leave the room. The smallest shower I’ve ever seen with no wash rags available."

"Comfy, clean, spacious room with kitchenette, lovely clean bathroom and a balcony. The apartments are located behind the main drag so are nice and quiet. Nobody at reception when we arrived and room not ready so we had to busy ourselves elsewhere for a few hours. Thought we were paying by card on line but seemingly not - ended up paying in cash at the owners request. Overall - room really nice; service not bad but not great."

"One of the best experiences we’ve had. Especially, the concierge service was outstanding. Villa was very clean, nothing broken or “heavily used”. Beds were also very comfortable. Kitchen had everything needed and now they also own a sandwich toaster. The pool was very very refreshing, which was a bit unexpected and view from pool is absolutely stunning. Also the personal contact with the host was always quick und transparent. Overall, a very good experience."

"We loved this villa. The location needed a car, but we expected that and as such not a problem. The Taverna Andreas is walking distance and actually I could have just visited there every night to eat and not gone anywhere else. It was excellent. The view from the pool is lovely. The highlight for us was the outside kitchen bbq sitting area, we spent hours just enjoying the space and relaxing. An amazing villa in a lovely quiet location. Michael was easy to contact and communicated with us throughout the holiday, even left a well stocked fridge for us on arrival. It was great being able to open a beer and make some snacks as soon as we got there, loved the watermelon. We could get taxis into Rethmyno with ease and if wanted you can run for hours without seeing anyone. Highly recommended."

"We had a wonderful stay at Villa Garifallia and would happily return in the future. The villa has had a major update from the photo's on the listing and is much improved. The villa is located up a very steep 1st gear hill, but the stunning views make it all worthwhile. The outside space is enormous with comfy sun beds, a lawned garden and a separate area for dining on the terrace. The pool and garden had the sun all day which was great, nothing like a late evening dip watching the sun go down!We were looked after by Yannis who owns the farm next door. Yannis was so helpful, he generally maintains the pool and the garden and he helped us with a few minor issues we came across. He also suppled a clutch of fresh eggs from the farm, Thanks Yannis. The beautiful village Mouralis is only around 250 metres away but it is a challenging walk as it is very steep, but it's well worth it. There are two lovely authentic restaurants that must be visited. Rethymno is only a short drive away and well wortjh a visit especially the old town which is beautiful. We would certainly recommend this lovely villa in the most beautiful peaceful location and would definitely return again."
