The village of Longhoughton is a pretty, coastal village, just over a mile from the hidden bay at Sugar Sands – an idyllic beach with views across to Dunstanburgh Castle, sited mid-way on the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage coastline designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Within the village there is a Co-op store for your provisions. You are well catered for with a popular coffee shop Company B, which is just opposite; amble across for a tasty breakfast, lunch, wonderful home-made cakes or Sunday lunch. In the opposite direction the Running Fox café is dog friendly and has a lovely space both inside and out, serving a wonderful selection of food.
Longhoughton is just 4 miles east of the historic market town of Alnwick with a wide array of amenities including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, independent shops, a variety of pubs and eateries. Famous for its part in Harry Potter’s Hogwarts, Alnwick Castle is a popular visitor attraction and a short stroll from the town centre. A visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must with its formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and ’poison’ garden. A great day out for all the family and you can dine in the largest tree house restaurant in Europe. The cottage is very comfortable and in ideal location for visiting the area.
The cottage is very comfortable and in ideal location for visiting the area.Two lovely cafes within walking distance both dog friendly.Amanda and Amir are lovely people and couldn’t have been more helpful.Would definitely recommend.
